The "rough" train is terrible. It feels like every 5 feet that you travel, the car is about to fly off the track. It starts shaking and it makes you feel as if you're being tortured for the whole duration of the ride. You can't even enjoy the music you're listening to because all you can think about is how much your head hurts.

I rode this train on Sunday and I bounced up and down SO much after the drop I thought I was going to get like a bruise on my butt!

My instinct tells me not to ride this ride this ride. Not that I ever jumped to it before, and I don't think it is carnival coaster scary, something about it is never right. I won't even give it the benefit of a 'turnstyle click'

I usually have no intention of riding it but when I was there on Saturday the crowds were really low so I didn't have to spend an absurd amount of time in line for it (again). Actually, when we first got to Universal on Saturday we walked by it and it had a 15 minute wait so we decided to give it another shot. As we were about to get in line, we see everyone who was in line leaving and the employee telling everyone that Rockit was closed and they didn't know how long it would be closed for. That should have been enough to deter me from riding it. Unfortunately, it opened back up 30 minutes later and the line was only 10 minutes so we gave it a shot and that's when I got the rough car.

Just got off Rockit... It was my third attempt and I had the displeasure of finally experiencing the rough car. It was train 5. One of the worst experiences I've ever had on a coaster.

I know how you feel Fear. I got the rough train the first time I rode it on soft opening. And to continue on what he said about the pain, it feels like when your in a washing machine that is unbalanced. You just shake over and over and over. It also makes an unbearable noise. I took two Excedrin and a sodium powder and it still didn't go away until after I went to sleep. If there's anyone contemplating riding this ride, I'd just recommend avoiding it.

The has NOTHING to do with a movie.
It is just basically a get rich quick scheme back firing.

The ride was originally meant to be a reason to keep crowds at the resort while Potter was under construction. It was NOT a "get rich quick" scheme.

The ride only has one rough train, so of course the park has to get new trains that would ruin the ride.
Intamin's OTSR would kill the ride, Vekoma's REAL roughness would kill the ride, and Premier's horrible looking trains would kill the ride.

I really hope that rumor isn't true.

The ride only has one rough train. That's it. I've been on Rockit some ridiculous number of times and have never had the pleasure of riding the rough train. Upgrading the bad trains would solve the problem. There is absolutely no need to replace every train. OTSRs would completely destroy this ride. The freedom of going over the double take, through the treble clef, and on the crowd surfer would be eliminated completely.

My review of the rumor:
1. Vekoma: It's too rough. Everest is the lone exception, but it's been stated that Vekoma would want to put OTSRs on Rockit.
2. Premier: I'm sorry, but your cars look like s**t. You're lucky Mummy is an indoor coaster. Yes, the park maintenance staff is familiar with your ride systems, but that's not worth the cost of further degrading this ride.
3. B&M: Your pride sickens me. The end.
4. Intamin: As much as you might work, you want OTSRs similar to Stormrunner. That's not cool.

NO OTSRs. The X-Train that we currently have is perfect with the layout of the coaster as long as they can be renovated and updated. I have no idea why Universal would complain about spending too much money when they've easily made 5x as much as it cost them to put in Potter since last summer.

This is true, because even the "smooth" ones, can still be a little bit rough. I just don't understand how something like this can happen IMHO. The train is on wheels, that roll along a smooth railing of track and it should be all good. I don't know if its the shocks, struts, or the wheels themselves, its baffling.

Agreed. The trains need work, but Universal should not seek out to another company. That's not the answer. Anything with an OTSR is bad news and Premier has proved that they can't make an attractive car. My opinion: upgrade the X-Trains. Why not spend the extra money upgrading the X-Cars you already have, or get new X-Cars? Universal has the money. They've already made the money back from Potter and are still posting record numbers in revenue. Spend the extra money to make the coaster look nicer without sacrificing the restraint system.

There is a great solution to this. It involves industrial chain, a large ball and an amazing skilled crew to make sure they can get as much for scrap metal as possible.

As I understand it, it is all about wheel clearances. And the more wheels, the better. You know how Gwazi got those Timberliner trains and it was so much smoother? Articulated trains with wheels on every row. The same is true with B&M trains, and the fact that those wheel assemblies absolutely hug the rails. Rockit? 3 rows between wheels, which means with the many sharp movements of the track, the wheels can't hug the rails so much, which leads to roughness.

If it truly was just a matter of adding a few more wheels to the trains, then it needs to get done. I also think that could possibly make this coaster faster.
