Hong Kong Disneyland

Just look up some reports on the recent D23 Expo, it had all the info you could possibly want there. Definitely some serious quality and cash being pumped into this expansion. I'd have to say I am most anticipating Mystic Manor.

i cant believe this thread hasn't kicked off yet! there has been so many interesting details released about the unique areas that are going to be created here!

hopefully this video will get people going: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noqb7jxWvvI&feature=player_embedded#at=131

here is an expo report showing off the whole ride story of the 'Mystic Point' attraction... This looks like an very innovative version of the Haunted Manson ride, taking it a lot further, better vehicle, better effects, better storyline! http://disneyandmore.blogspot.com/2009/09/d23-expo-special-report-hong-kong.html

again, heres the expo report of Grizzly Trail, in a setting Similar to frontier land... Yet again is an innovative version of big thunder mountain, yet again taken a lot further, better effects, better ride vehicle, more of a story line... THIS ONE INCLUDES A LAUNCH! so basically is Big Thunder Mountain on STEROIDS! http://disneyandmore.blogspot.com/2009/09/d23-expo-special-report-hong-kong_22.html

and then there is a Toy Story Playground... This is almost identical to the one in Paris that has just been built i have covered this here on my thread: http://www.orlandounited.com/forums/showthread.php?4712-Attraction-Openings-Of-Non-USA-Universal-Disney-2010

personally i cant wait to see how these areas develop

Budget Cuts in Hong Kong Disneyland's Mystic Manor?

We have heard that the budget has been radically slashed for Hong Kong Disneyland's upcoming E-Ticket attraction Mystic Manor. The attraction which was to be the park's version of The Haunted Mansion has been subjected to numerous reviews over budget and timetable. The budget restrictions will affect story, show and the proposed ride system (which was to be a trackless system like Tokyo Disneyland's Pooh's Hunny Hunt). The attraction is unlikely to open in the same form as exhibited at the Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Showcase at D23 Expo last year unless another change of course happens.

Wow. That looks incredible. The backwards portion looks incredible and the launch is awesome. The show elements look great and they actually work.

I have never read anywhere that it was supposed to be anything more than what it is. Can you point me to an article that detail what might have been?
I have no links, but there were supposed to be multiple interactions with the Yeti. One by the broken track (cable snapping on Grizzly Mountain), another where the projector is, and at the end. Or maybe, I just a have a poor memory.

Saw a daytime pov of this and its absolutely beutiful!!! If Everest and Big Thunder had a baby together this would be there beutiful baby!!! Good job to Hong King Disneyland!!!

Brilliant storytelling, stellar effects and incredible everything...wow. How Disney can even allow attractions like Little Mermaid to be constructed when the potential is so much higher is beyond me.
