Yeah, I made good use of my A-List this month between Companion, Heart Eyes, and The Monkey. As far as quality goes, that's probably the order I would rank them in. But Heart Eyes was for sure the most fun.

Finally got around to seeing "THE MONKEY"

It was better than expected. Not really horror, but creepy & suspenseful. Also ridiculously hilarious & bad in the best way. I liked it a lot. Definitely worth getting dressed & going out to see (plus it's discount Tuesday)

As much as I want the popcorn bucket, I feel like it'd creep me out A LOT lol..

Would make a fun IP original house at HHN

I loved Heretic, Hugh Grant was so perfectly obnoxious & creepy and I especially loved the Lana shout out and I also just finished watching The Parenting, polar opposite in tone but such a funny movie.

Just watched Nick Frost’s “Get Away.” It’s an absolute delight.

Also watched “Presence” which has the bones of an amazing flick, but it’s dragged down by a couple of horrendously horrid performances. Still worth a watch for the concept alone.

Get Away is truly an understated pleasure, to be fair I love everything with Nick Frost, he can do no wrong

"It’s totally dead,” the source tells us. “It’s 100% over. Almost a year now"... this sucks.

Really frustrating given how Saw X scratched the itch and performed pretty well. I guessed producer infighting before I even clicked the link - I thought it was strange at the time they were shifting from the writing/production team that handled X for a sequel with an extremely fast turnaround.

At least the series ended on a high note. Saw X was awesome. Sad though because there was potential for more...

it was kind of a mistake to move away from the Chris Rock timeline, and even if saw X was good, there was never much for the story to continue.
saw X didn't really bring anything new.

the other rumor going around ( that I never posted here, but I remember seeing) was that Tobin Bell had some health issues or something. might not be true but that was the rumor

even if the Chris Rock movie wasn't the best, the franchise needed to continue that storyline.

Alright, reading the article, my excitement for this announcement has greatly diminished. It's yet another reboot, and they're talking of 'reinventing' and 'elevating' our favorite lil sh*t, when that just really isn't necessary. These movies are great because they know exactly what they are: Terrible, campy movies that know they're terrible and campy and just roll with it.

Plus we really need Warwick Davis to play the good ol' Lep again (or Linden Porco who played him in Returns and did a pretty good job capturing the same energy Davis did, though of course I'd prefer for him to return if he can).

Just heard about The Bride's move to March 2026. I am Joe's unending sense of disappointment and frustration. In good news, Zach Cregger's Weapons has been moved up from Jan.16 2026 to Aug 8 2025.

As far as recent horror viewings, I watched Heart Eyes several days ago and quite enjoyed it. Most of the humor falls flat, but some hit their mark. Mason Gooding is too charming in this and makes for one hell of a fine romantic lead. The “romance” him and Olivia Holt have is very cute and both are very likable and incredibly easy to root for. The deaths are pretty darned good too. The Heart Eyes Killer is super cool, visually striking, and makes for yet another memorable psycho. Heart Eyes is a lot of fun, highly entertaining, and all-around satisfying. It’s nice to see a Valentine’s Day themed romantic slasher film that is incredibly cynical about love. Don’t let that fool you, though. Behind that ice-cold stare, there are hearts in this killer’s eyes. 3.5 STARS

I always thought THE BRIDE! would end up moving, because Guillermo del Toro's lavish FRANKENSTEIN adaptation is supposedly coming in October, and two Frankenstein movies in two months (with GDT's being, let's face it, the more anticipated one) would probably not be good for THE BRIDE!

For better or worse, I believe Warner Bros. is also betting The Bride will end up being a money loser, and they've already had some auteur-driven disappointments on their balance sheet this year. If your big swing is going to have a soft box office performance, may as well move it out of the shadow of the more anticipated Frankenstein adaptation. Otherwise, the conversation will just be "well, it's pretty good, but is it GDT good?"
