Well to be fair... they showed off a TWD attraction concept at this year's IAAPA.. and Japan has a walk-through interactive Resident Evil attraction. So it really is entirely possible that it could happen.

In regards to the classic monsters, I mentioned the rumor about us getting our own version of Orlando's "Universal Classic Monsters Café". I'll believe it when I see it, but it would be great if true. I'll have to ask my other guy if he has heard anything in regards to the new building.

I do love that the monster trio is now in black & white. Its so cool. Apparently they have tested out other characters as well (Bride, Wolfie, Phantom), so its possible they could be used in the future. We'll see what happens.

Also... if I remember correctly, I thought someone had said several pages back that they heard that BOTH TWD & the Universal Monsters would find a home in the new building. So that would certainly match TWD & Monsters Café rumors.

^ Yes, but my original source told me that the year round maze would either be Universal Classic Monster's OR TWD, with the "Classic Monsters" theme being a sort of time line being played within a movie theater, however the facade doesn't look quite like a theater. I see it being Walking Dead though, but it would definitely feel out of place for me :/

I personally Don't think TWD Is coming to USH as a full Time Attraction I personally think This is Just a speculation that HoH is returning in a different format If you look On Parks and Cons Instagram You can See the monsters characters In the park changed to black and white Maybe that's a clue

They've always had the Black and White monsters as Meet and Greets. And even then; they were still around, even before the HOH's closure.

I am incredibly over TWD, but would go as far as betting my arm that it will be coming to the park. There are certain things currently being done in one department that makes me 99% sure it will become reality.

Some new images have popped up for the exteriors showing just a tiny bit of shrubbery and what not, and the tiling for some of the roofing has gone up. credit for the photos goes to California Coaster Kings;

To me this tree looks too big and too close to the building.  And it'll just get bigger.  Much larger than those added to Springfield or most of the ones around Universal Plaza.  Maybe it's still in it's pot waiting to get placed.

HollywoodDine_011616_1.jpg

Takes a lot to put in some windows.

HollywoodDine_011616_2.jpg

I kept staring at the brick until I noticed that only the narrow vertical portion on the left has mortar.  While the black looks nice around the bricks I think the mortar version is more realistic.

HollywoodDine_011616_3.jpg

Only one other place has the brick with mortar so far.  I assume it'll all get it eventually.

This is outside the park but the tall construction walls have been replaced with draped fencing suggesting this side is nearly done.

I don't see it to be honest. I'd love for that show to come over here however.

I can see it, but only vaguely. And technically we did get HMU here recently... at least an aspect of it- the "Horror" segment in the newly revamped Special Effects Show.. Keep in mind though, USH had the HMU show many many years ago before Orlando did. Or at least the first incarnations of it.

With Potter wrapping things up, this NOT-HoH project should be moving full steam ahead over the next month... I'm hoping they plan to have it completed BEFORE April 7th.

They'll have the exteriors completed by April for sure, the interiors could be a whole different story.

With the real Pantages a few minutes away, it would be silly cloning it inside the park, no matter how gorgeous it is.

I'm still not crazy about the color schemes they chose, but absolutely loving all the little ornate architectural details popping up!

And yet they cloned Mel's inside the park... do we really want to go there on the silliness of what they do in the parks & what exists outside of it? Besides, we all know they aren't cloning the exterior of the Pantages for this building.

As for the exterior of the building, I would sure hope they're done by April... hell I'd hope they're done with the exterior sometime next month!

The IU Twitter account posted this photo. Seems like I wasn't too off comparing the garish colored façades to the unfinished Springfield façades. Looks like they are getting ready for the final paint scheme.

About time! So relieved. Looks so much more regal and attractive that way! I hope more realistic colors trickle down to the different facades as well. I'm loving all the ornate molding, trim, and details.

Several more new palm trees planted in front of Studio Store as well as Hollywood Boulevard (House of Horrors replacement).  I'm calling this side of the new building that since the art deco design is reminiscent of old Hollywood and the addition of palm trees suggests southern California.  Also it's across from Hollywood Grill.  I could be wrong of course.  Also, lots of roofing got done since I was there on Wednesday.

Signage removed from Hollywood Grill.

More colors added to Cinabon side of building.  Looking really good.

HollywoodDine_012316_4.jpg

Outside the park lots of new palm trees were planted around the new building.  Notice also they appear to be addressing a double-size door in the wall.  Peeking through gaps in the chain link fence there is still work happening on paths, curbs and other hardscape.  Although incomplete it looked very much like it could be for park guests.  It might be only a fire exit but it looked like more.  We'll see soon cuz it's moving along rather quickly.

The park map already shows Hollywood Grill as "Hollywood & Dine".

I hear its becoming a grab n' go.  Not my favorite choice, but its much more suited for this area over other current venues.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong; but wasn't that originally rumored of Hollywood and Dine being for the Lower Lot?

The map does show NBCUE becoming a grab n' go opening in February called Studio Cafe.

In fact, more detail on the map says its a hybrid location.  It lists the name change to Hollywood & Dine will be in March.
