My guess is because it's no longer I-Drive Live and now Orlando Eye.

Thanks. Just thought I would throw these out there. Nothing major, but a nice footnote for the day in the life of a manchild and his camera.

And they couldn't do this yesterday? :fist:

Can't wait to see this thing completed and finally take a spin on it.

I believe the plan is to have the whole place open by New Years Eve 2014.

I know the longhorn opened last week at this location, did anyone see how the parking situation is while all of the other construction is going on around it? Just curious to see how some of the businesses that open before the entire project is complete will do. Maybe someone has posted an image of the entire layout but I can't recall seeing it and where the longhorn is in relation to the actual EYE.

So, the Orlando Sentinel is reporting that Orlando is one of the cities in the running for Merlin's new Shrek attraction concept, possibly as part of the Orlando Eye complex.

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/business/os-shrek-attraction-merlin-orlando-20140303,0,6158253.story

This would be an interesting development with Shrek 4-D just down the road. Based on the article, it appears both attractions could exist contractually. I wonder if Merlin has clues that Shrek is "not for long" at UO and that is why they are even considering this as an option? Of course, the Gaylord Palms has the rights to use the Shrek characters as well. That's a lot of Shrek in Orlando.

Some of these attractions coming soon to International Drive have joined Twitter @theorlandoeye, @SEALIFEOrlando and @TussaudsOrlando! Apparently there will be an announcement tomorrow  For now, their Twitter descriptions say "Coming in 2015!"

Probably not, because the "not for long" rumors are completely made up by a very vocal group of fan-site members who have no reason to believe that Shrek is on the way out, besides the fact that they don't like it :bonk:

It appears the name has changed again and that now it is I-Drive 360.

So, like the London eye, will the wheel have to be assembled horizontally and then raised into place? Has the assembly begun yet?

I do not believe so. The London Eye is cable supported. Orlando Eye will have steel spokes.
