I'm pretty mixed on the enhancements. Rode the new version for the first time during the AP event last night. There was a severe lack of air conditioning in the queue, leading to it feeling pretty hot and sticky, even at 10:30PM. The gamma core (and associated bass effects) in the queue are pretty awesome actually, though the screens before the station area are basically pointless. The station and the launch tunnel look great...but man, I wish the launch audio lived up to Banner's dialogue in the original. They basically traded audio for visuals, instead of having both of them be memorable. Can't really say much about the onboard music since it's hardly audible until after the brake run. Maybe putting the speakers near guests' feet wasn't the right way to go. The ride felt slightly smoother, but still had a bit of the old version's shakiness to it. I wouldn't even call it as smooth as Dragons.
Overall, still an amazing coaster (the launch into the zero g roll remains one of the best things ever), but many of the upgrades seem to not quite reach their potential. Between the onboard audio hardly making itself known, the queue getting old quick due to a lack of anything interesting to look at once you get bored of the gamma core (those interested in screens displaying detailed statistics readouts please disregard), and the lack of AC, it just doesn't live up to what it could be. I would certainly never want to spend more than 10-15 minutes in that queue, which should be a blasphemous statement for a 2016 Universal attraction.
