I've been through this house 13 times now, and yet for the first time since my first night in 2015, a scare got me to the floor.

Curtain hallway, Lipstick Demon does his scare to my friend in front of me and I thought he wouldn't come back out. I blink, and next thing I know his claw is about 2-3 centimeters from my face, which had me fall back and go to the floor. Holy sh*t!

Third time through. I’m ready to admit. This house is boring. I’m really disappointed as this was my most hyped up house, and for me it falls flat. Do I need to stick up wanted signs for the scareactors?!?! I’d totally be up for that. I’d even do the house alone tbh.

Only have Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday left to do it again before I go back to the UK, so really am hoping for at least one decent run over those three nights!

I went through 3 times last night. Still hit and miss, but when it hits it really hits hard. Especially the lipstick-face demon scareactors - they are awesome and work so well together! I still think the house can be boring if timings off however - the second run through I didn’t get a single scare until the lipstick-face demons got me good. Made for a very uneven run

Had an incredible run last night, probably the best I'll have all year.

Hurricane prep and rains meant that by 12AM yesterday, most everyone had left the park already. Lines were so short; Insidious was at a 15, AQP at a 20, and Ghostbusters got down to 10. It was walk-on's the entire time, which allowed for much more personal runs than you are normally able to get. I saw people looping Insidious, which on a normal event night means you're pretty much getting that house done maybe 7 times max from 6pm to 2am. It was some guy's 4th run that hour.

I was effectively by myself through the whole house. The double Bride scare hit me like a truck, both popped out at the same time and it's like every actor here knows to reach right for the face. Lots of very creepy stalking around dark empty rooms from some Brides and Further ghouls without triggers. I saw the shadow on the door misdirect for the first time, as well as the actor that goes with it, and that got me great. The creature from I3 was on the countertop, rocking back and forth, just brushing the faceless persons hair. Incredibly creepy! The mannequin rooms were intense. The curtains with Darth Maul are awesome on a normal run, but they were relentless last night up into the finale where Keyface looked and pointed at me in the darkness. I figured I might know the performer or something, so I point back and smile before getting hit with Keyface, Bride, and Darth Maul all at the same time, each just a few inches from my head. Got damnt, what a freaking scare. Darth Maul even saw it fit to get me one last time from his side boohole. You should've seen the big, dumb smile on my face as I walked out of that soundstage, I kept it on for a good 15+ minutes walking around and into other house queues; that run was absolutely awesome.

The actors in this house put every other cast to shame. So much intensity, and so much knowledge of how to get a proper, incredible reaction out of a guest. I haven't been able to jump all year, because for the most part performers usually stick to just walking out of their boohole, doing their show scene, or the like. There are only a few performers actually able or willing to scare effectively in my experiences and I could probably name them off the top of my head. I get it, it's a hard, uncomfortable, and long job. And for the most part, the easy scare works just fine to make the average guest or high school group jump. But as someone who's been going for awhile and at this point needs more than a loud clang and a slow moving monster to get my heartrate up, I appreciate every performer in this house so, so much. Every run of mine has been so incredibly fun.

This is clearly the best house of the year. Incredibly long, detailed, intense, and varied. This is the one offering this year that I see qualifying as an All-Timer in my head.

This house continues to shine even in the last few weeks of the run. I’ve done this house so many times it should be illegal and yet I still get scared. When the actors recognize you from repeat runs, they mess with you and they will NOT give up until they get you. One night the finale bride in black left her spot and hid in a dark corner and ran at me with no trigger, then proceeded to run in front of me, go back to her real spot, and hit her trigger, effectively scaring me twice in a row. I don’t think I have ever seen a cast this remarkable.

I think the houses overall this year are being unfairly maligned. It’s quite a strong lineup, and even Museum was surprisingly enjoyable. My biggest shock was how much I appreciated Quiet Place. While there are certainly issues this year the houses aren’t really one of them, and nothing comes even remotely close to the depths of Chucky.

All that said, Insidious strikes me as the most over praised house since Catacombs. Everyone likes different things about the event and its mazes, of course, but outside of the initial giant door there was very little here of interest. I’ve see the films - they’re fine if utterly forgettable - but the house doesn’t even capture the few intriguing elements in the series. It’s a string of unremarkable hallways and unimaginative settings that really, really didn’t need to be in a soundstage. I’m certain the cast tries very hard, but I just don’t feel they have much to work with. The house isn’t BAD, but it’s the one at the event I have the least desire to experience again.

I think this house just won HOTY. I heard the scare actors all hyped up really loudly heading into the house and then I saw this tweet. Congrats if true, very deserved!

Out of all the years I have gone ('10, '17, '19-now), this was the scariest house I have ever experienced. The overall sense dread, use of mirrors, and relentlessness of the scareactors was incredible.

I didn't see it mentioned anywhere, but did anyone else notice the mirror scare of the small mirror on the table and it's only use is for the Darth Maul on the right so you can see him appear behind you? Fantastic scare.
