Wow. Reports are coming in that the animatronics are more fluid and the falling car is finally working again!

Heh. I wish.

While I've ridden JPRA at Universal's Islands of Adventure several times over the years, I still prefer the version here over it. Its really the superior version of the ride. Obviously it could benefit from a few little extras here/there though. You can imagine my annoyance/disappointment when I rode last summer for the first time in 14 years, only to experience a lack of falling jeep! <_<  It also sucked not seeing it in action when I went to HHN last year as well.

I don't want to see changes/references to Jurassic World within this ride... but I would like for a whole new JP experience to be created at some point after the movie comes out. The only thing the current ride should see is technical upgrades, new dino skins & a few little extras here/there.

As for JPRA in Orlando....

Ever since WWOHP was erected at IOA, I've always wanted JPRA to be renovated to get the addition of the greenhouse-esque covered tunnel the ride has here. (or find a way to elevate taller trees & create some over-hanging branches. I just hate seeing Hogwarts when going up that first hill when leaving the load platform, it kills the atmosphere.

the dream deteriorated so quickly  sooo much hope. if the falling car is so impossible to fix does this mean they might scrap the car and add an effect like USO has with the falling crate?

Might as well. I don't see why the falling car is so hard to fix. All it needs is a new cable/line and pulley system.

I highly doubt they'd just scrap that entire effect to replace it with one seen in Florida.

ugh, I hate the stupid falling crate... it doesn't even work all the time, Japan's JPRA also has it... and lets be honest, its not really that exciting compared to the falling jeep. I wouldn't mind the falling crate so much, if it was an addition to the ride. It was a thought that crossed my mind once, among other little extras. haha

seriously though, its kinda sad that they didn't dump money into JPRA's refurb. It is still a star attraction for the park despite how long its been there, plus the new movie coming out.. you'd think they'd want it in perfect condition.. oh wait, I'm using "logic" & "theme park" in the same sentence again. OOPS!

I wouldn't even want to imagine that there is plan to remove the falling Jeep. It's one of the reasons why our version is better than Orlando's... still don't know why Universal didn't give it a full refurb for the movie. I mean if the idea is to wait to see if it is successful it's just stupid. They will need to wait almost a year for them to refurb it. Stupid.

I know everyone is aware the ride is open, but I though a couple shots was a good idea.  Personally, I love the new green color under the water.

this new green is definitely working for me too! Wished they had time to put a little color on the building. A pale grey would definitely make it look better

Something tells me. At least I hope Im right that they will wait once Springfield, Fast&furious/Night time studio tour are well on their way to give any sort thought/action to that. If they do make a move which we all agree it should be now. It's more likely going to be after this summer. Im sure it's been considered but due to the overhaul on all these big projects  and boii they are moving like lightning.. may be why  all they could give us this summer, at least in the mean time is a plain and ordinary refurb. That or they are really thinking this out and they might wait all the way after WWOHP opens so it can be that next big reason why people should come to the park 2017.

blah i don't even know anymore. guess I'm just bummed I won't get to see that jeep fall down the cliff next time I'm at the park  :(  that would of been enough for so much people including myself. I'm starting to get the idea there should be a petition going around saying "project SAVE THE JEEP! "

Honestly guys, I don't believe this was a real refurb. They probably painted a few things and reskinned a dino or two (that's very simple) but beyond that they didn't touch anything mechanical. I think it was a cost saving closure more than anything, Disney does that sometimes as well.

I DO have hope though that Universal will completely refurb the ride properly.

Knowing that Spielberg was a huge Disneyland fan, a part of me still thinks this line was intentional.

It was. It was to signify how John Hammond was not paying attention to small detail, such as the opening year of Disneyland.

I get irritated when Disney foamers make a huge deal of it.
