Ok, so DH and HTF know, to some degree what is coming for the two currently unused areas of JP. So, I will ask them: DH and HTF, on a scale of 1-10, how excited are you for what they are planning? Give us 3 separate scores, one for adult thrills, one for potential theming, one for family attraction.

Who cares as long as the middle one is an 8? That's pretty exciting, sometimes the thrill of the attraction is the theme of the experience. If anything, there's plenty of other thrill rides at IOA to do if this one doesn't whet your appetite. But there AREN'T a lot of well-rounded and immersive family attractions, and I'm frankly more excited to see the park more fleshed out than to just get another thrill ride.

Also it might be the combination of two rides in adult thrill he's giving a 6 too.

IOA has more than enough thrills. We don't need another Hulk in JP.

I'd be more excited about the prospect of the 8 and 9, than worried about the 6.

Great to hear that both the unused space and Trike will be used. Sounds like Universal is really planning to go all-out on this expansion, which will end up being fantastic for that whole area in the long-run.

I gave "thrill" a 6 because the mine ride is supposed to be a family coaster. It should be more "fun" than "thrilling".

That's what the rumor I'm hearing is saying. HTF has more current info so he may be better able to answer that question.

Good. That's exactly what Universal needs overall. More fun rides than thrilling rides. Your take has me really excited.

DH, using this same hypothetical "thrill" rating system, how would you rate, Big Thunder Mountain and Everest?

BTMRR I'd give a 6, Everest a 7.

but I don't believe this mine ride will be on the scale of BTMRR. But a similar "thrill" level.

So basically a Jurassic Park version of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

I wouldn't be surprised if the amber mine coaster gets finished before the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, lol.

Theme elements are the most important to me also. If I just want thrills, I can go to one of many amusement parks. Plus IOA needs a heavily themed family attraction more than a thrill based ride at this point in time.

%100 agree. In fact the older I get the more I enjoy the highly themed environment way more then the rides

I'm 21 and love roller coasters, but a well themed dark ride always trumps thrills in my opinion. It's one of the reasons I love Uni and Disney. Hoping for a well themed family attraction for sure.

Just to echo what everyone else is saying, Family Fun > Thrills for IoA and for the Resort in general at the moment. Looks like they are making the right moves right now.
