JS, look very very closely at the very bottom edge of that old document. Maintenance is in the back of the building. Although it is very blurry, you can reconcile the words "maintenance bay".

Aha! I don't know how I missed that up until now. I blame my iPhone.

That does make this even more interesting.

I also went up in the helicopter with Jake this past Sunday. I will have more photos up soon on OrlandoTouristBlog.com, but here are a few for now...

Think about this.... Red is the load. Purple is what Teebin had in Gray, Blue is the Entry and Yellow is the exit. It still all makes sense. Enjoy.

The outdoor portion has me intrigued...more so than the inside..curios to see how they execute a jungle atmosphere without showing Dudley or getting bleed over from the JP music blasting right by the track

I'm thinking trees for the Dudley hide, the ride soundtrack will probably overshadow the lands music or atleast a loud sound effect of kong roaring to add to the lands music. Either or it'll be a challenge

I'm curious as to how long this ride will be. If there is a 360 portion inside (which based on the similarly shaped building to Hollywood, it looks like there will be), that may take up to 90-120 seconds. That's a long delay per car, even if each one loads 50-60 people.

I wonder if anyone would be up to the challenge of overlaying or at least comparing the Kong 360 building vs the Orlando version given these new aerials? Would be a great perspective on size and what to expect me thinks...

The green looks to be where you will exit for Scene 7 (the Post show) let me know what you think of all this...

Gonna guess part of the Postshow Scene has been partially moved inside to incorporate the Kong AA.

I already did something like this, measuring in Google Earth. The tall building is approximately 340' long. As some us already have a hint that the dark ride scene prior to the giant screen room is approximately 1/3 of the entire building, this leaves us with approximately 200' remaining. Probably a bit more than that. As we know the Kong 360 screens are 200' long each, I feel confident this will be a very similar experience.

I for one can't WAIT to ride a Kong ride again at Universal Orlando as it was and always will be one of my favorite classics at the resort, but I STILL CANT WRAP MY HEAD AROUND THE PLACEMENT of this ride, again to me it takes the "islands" concept AWAY from "Islands of Adventure", I'm sure Thierry Coup has a nice story behind the placement I just WANT to hear it! :blank:

There's room for more walkway/ props outside the ride than I had originally thought. Or will that end up just being the queue? I like seeing maybe a food stand or a gift shop if it's going to be a mini Skull Island...or a big Jurassic World. hmmm...

Nearly everything outside the ride will be ride track and entrance/exit.

Has it been confirmed that the screen portion will be an entirely new film, and not an exact remake of the Hollywood version?

It would make the most business sense for it to be the exact same film. Otherwise, I have no idea and would be impressed if they paid for new footage... if it was good footage.

I think you just have to accept Universal found some land to add a kick ass ride that thematicly (jungle) complement the viewlines an astatics. It,s not Disney is doing a better job with their themed land; what is a comedy club with monsters doing in Tomorrowland or Tangled as a theme for toilets or an arabic themed ride in a jungle themed adventure land.

Regarding the outside part of the ride, maybe it's set on the Second floor going over the guests heads?

Not saying two wrongs make a right, but you don't cross over a body of water when walking from MSHI to TL either. They definitely take some "creative license" with the islands concept.

The constant references to Disney on this site are getting kind of ridiculous. Yeah, comparisons between neighboring theme parks are gonna be inevitable, but Disney bashing where it doesnt even fit is quite honestly stupid. You guys need to realize that, if anything, Disney and Universal are very beneficial to each other. This rivalry between the two is hugely exaggerated in y'all's heads, and the bashing/comparing all the time is unwarranted.

Anyway, now that that's off my chest...WOW this project is huge. Saw it again today in person and was just in awe by how huge it is. I hope they do something to make the showbuilding at least a little hidden behind Thunder Falls. Hiding soundstages isn't exactly Universal's strong suit so I'll remain cautiously optimistic. But either way, this ride should be amazing, if not just because of the sheer scope of it.

Apologies Teebs I somehow missed this, any idea how far back you posted it?

Teebin, do you think the third room in the long building was cut then? Because that's where Theme Park Insider seemed to imply the Kong AA was.
