I think from what HTF has mentioned, it will be a mini land themed to Skull Island from the movie. Not sure how much more they will fit in that area

I'm curious to hear more about what the Kong Land surrounding the ride will be like? Any additional attractions? I presume there will be food options?

Total budget for Phase 1 was 240 Million and unless I'm mistaken came in at 265 Million. Original FJ ride was well in excess of 100 million and what we got came in between 85-90 million... Diagon on the other hand has a budget in great excess of 400 million.

You're not mistaken.

This would fit too perfectly with Jurassic Park to be true- I mean, the two would have almost the same atmosphere to them, and they could potentially even (gasp) have interactions with one another (such as Kong battling dinosaurs). I just shudder to think about how this would affect the look of the new Jurassic Park entrace, if it would indeed be pushed back to the River Adventure area...

They will really need to cram quite a lot of stuff into that area even to have a "mini" land...

I mean, it does have full-fledged animatronics, 360-degree sets, and a very impressive facade/queue line

I liked someones idea earlier (forgot who said it) of making this one land called 'The Lost World' which would encompass both minilands...

With JP4 coming next year .
They could put Kong on the island
They cloned Kong from samples taken after he was killed in his movie.
Jurassic Park in the movie is 10 years old ,so they need something big to keep the tourists coming in
Cloning Kong could do that.

Anyone else amazed that Universal is building a ride that utilizes a live 'guide'? Rides like Jaws or The Great Movie Ride that feature a live performer always have an added charm and vitality (and re-ridability). But I was certain that for financing reasons, Universal was moving away from that.

If this pans out as described, I will be very pleased!

I thought that too.. like they did at Singapore to include Jurassic Park and Waterworld.

Yeah, and he's saying it will be bigger than the budget for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, which makes sense from his description of that ride. Quite excited to see some concept art for it (I know, that's a long ways from now)

Why don't you draw some up, with you being the talented artist that you are.

Also, I'm pleased that this is going to IOA purely in terms of balancing new additions. Having Kong, JP & Lorax for IOA and Transformers, Springfield, Diagon & Kidzone for Studios seems more sensible than the more one-sided arrangement from before.

Indeed! They're making good choices and keeping a balance. Good for business and guest satisfaction, as both parks have new, exciting and profitable attractions

The live performer is a big plus in my mind, it really sets the ride apart. Not only more immersive the first time you ride, but a little different each ride.

That is how it is in Singapore, though it encompasses Waterworld instead of Kong. They could just add to the storyline of Isla Adventura, when they were digging a new Amber Mine they finally discovered the island already had an inhabitant... Kong  (don't ask me how something that big could hide on a tiny island for ~15 years)
