If it's Kong related it's coming from me as no one else with the exception of Whylightbulb has really come forward with any Kong rumored intel. Just people who have copied exactly what I've said but without graphic details on the ride package.

On that note, he posted an update on Spirit's thread over at Magic that I'm sure you'll all be interested in...

340 is greenlit and rolling along and only slightly behind schedule. Glad you are back!

By the way I'm not sure where all this talk of major problems at Gringotts and HE is coming from but other than the predictable issues encountered on any new ride system as well as the many stupid delays caused by putting kids straight out of school in charge of entire scopes with very little supervision i haven't seen anything yet that will delay opening by months.

Glad he has come out and said it's coming. Maybe people might actually get on board now that he has confirmed it. Next couple of months are going to be fun.

As for the Gringotts thing, as I said before what I heard was probably out of frustration and would probably be rectified. But only time will tell. Regardless though let's hope they get everything fixed and working 100%.

By when do you expect groundbreaking? And will it still be 2016 or late 2015? With the speed that they were able to complete potter wouldn't you expect everything to be done for JP and kong in 2015? Maybe a mid 2015 opening for JP and 2016 opening for Kong?

I don't think they break ground until 2015. It will just be interesting if Universal does construction on JP and Kong at the same time, it just depends on how big the new JP stuff will be, which it doesn't sound like it will be very big at all.

Your going to see the focus change to IOA soon. Once it begins everyone will get a better idea of the scope of these projects.

JP 2015
Kong 2016
Plus more projects on going within IOA during both of these projects.

As they should. As great as IOA is, it has been left alone for the most part since opening day (obviously minus Potter). Once Diagon Alley opens USF just needs a couple minor changes (please, please PLEASE get rid of Shrek) until they're ready for the KidZone re-do. Time for IOA to get some love.

IOA is one of the best theme parks ever made...where it fails however is the amount of stuff to do...Recently I have found myself leaving IOA and spending more time at USF..IOA is still my favorite, but could use a whole lot more...excited to see what's on the horizon

Outside of the new JP stuff and Kong e-ticket they could use a few shows around the park too to give people stuff to do and keep wait times lower on rides. The whole Lorax thing sounds dead but a new family ride at Seuss or even Toon Lagoon would help also.

WHOA, WHAT. Is this a real thing that is really for real? It makes sense that it might go out, but is it gonna be going out to Kong?

I still have small hope that TL stays, but it isn't looking likely. I love the more old school cartoons and seeing Universal get rid of what little they have left doesn't make me a happy camper. Dudley and Popeye are fun rides too, except in the winter obviously. I'd rather they just tear down what is left of LC than the lagoon. Especially if it is for LOTR.

Also to another post, I don't think Kong effects TL much at all. The ride is supposedly going behind thunder falls in Jurassic Park.

TL is just not relevant to the target market anymore.....newspapers are dying or dead, and unfortunately the comics are a big part of that.

I work in TL :( I love my blutttooosss. Dudley and Bluto are fun rides, but Blutos show elements are HORRIBLE!!!! If it were up to me, I'd just re-theme TL and bring Kong into that newly theme TL instead of just cramming it behind JP. I keep trying to picture it but all I see is a cramped ride with a long queue leading back to it

How grand would the other projects be that are going within IOA?

New lagoon show?
Deconstruction of LC and/or TL?
Food additions?
Refurbs and added scenes to rides?

Despite the odd theme choice, I actually find Toon Lagoon quite impressive. The area is interactive and fun, with photo ops out the wazoo, and I am always impressed by how they manage to make the music flow in the area, with each comic strip getting a few lines in the same song.
Obviously, though, it is the weakest by popular opinion (aside from MAYBE LC, just because it has no rides or IP connections), and suffers from being too water-oriented, especially when immediately next to the premier water ride on the resort.
I would miss TL, but wouldn't be resistant to a potential retheme. My only issue is what to do with the rides currently there? Both are good rides that could be great with new theming and animatronics. I just wish we could airlift entire rides and space them out better through the resort.

I love what they did with TL, But I'd rather see it completely gone than re-themed. It takes up so much land and with Universal's new pep in their step, I'd love to see what they do with all that area.

But the fact that HTF brings up "borrowed time" about TL has me wondering about things.

I think, when we do see a change, that the majority of the land will be demolished, with only Popeye getting a retheme. That's just a guess on my part, however.

With all the issues its had over the years, I'm sure there'd be a long line of people at Creative willing to burn Dudley to the ground.
