I could see them going with a section like the mini golf concept they are doing. Cheesy over the top sci fi things. Nothing specific or movie oriented. Having a smaller set of slides themed to film strips. Make the lazy river themed to your adventure films and the pools the more glitzy 1940s musicals....

That is the way I could see it done. That being said. That is just a little too kitsch for me...and I like kitsch.

i could see a "cirque du soleil" style show in the wave pool during the day with "Dive in" movies at night time.

I don't think going with an LC-style theme for the water park would be the best idea. I mean you have Poseidon and the other water gods, but that's it for water park material. This theme would do so much better in a new park, IMO. Also, I think that movie theme Splatter mentioned is a neat idea, just not sure they'd go with it after doing the same thing for the mini golf course. IMO, I think Skull Island would do best in the water park setting. At least Kong fans would have their gorilla back.

I think generic is the way to go. Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon have timeless themes since they aren't tied to specific movies, but can still tell a great story.

I agree

No offense to anyone, I love the brainstorming, but Pools themed to glitzy 1940s musicals... Although there are some people that would enjoy this stuff today, the majority of that target audience is way too old to be jumping into a pool, let alone be wearing a swimsuit :stunned:

Skull Island is getting warmer, but to theme an entire water park around the concept of a single movie franchise is going out on a limb, though it would be cool.

remember the goal of the people behind these massive projects is $$$$$$ The question can't be "What would the die hard theme park geeks enjoy the most" (that would be us) The question has to be what can we make that is timeless, appeals to the widest group of audience/age groups, and that most people will be able to relate to or understand. Like the examples jtsalien gave.

I agree that it will without a doubt be an original/non movie theme.

Although I wouldn't be surprised if a ride themed to Kong was added and technology like the dragon ride at Schlitterban was used.

I'm not too crazy about the simple movie approach, nor the Skull Island idea, because they don't really have an intrinsic value large enough to encompass what it means to have a theme park (or in this case, a water park, though that makes no difference).

I, however, agree that the LC theme would not fit completely within the storyline, so something along the lines of a forgotten island off the coasts of Port of Entry's island would work, and would allow for Universal Creative's gift of original ideas (like we saw with LC) to flourish once more. Of course, it wouldn't be connected to IOA, but its story would be connected with IOA's. Implementing a storyline for the RPR would make the deal work out even better.

What I envision is somewhat along the lines of Blizzard Beach's layout: a strong weenie with subsections around it. The island's theme could revolve around the forces that created both it and the island on which the village (later named Port of Entry) was built with the lighthouse that later shined specifically only on the village island (remember that the other islands in IOA were created from a little ghost girl's red pebble, so they came afterwards), therefore resulting in the other island remaining undiscovered until now, having playful waterfalls and slippery rocks and whatnot, but also having a deep secret held deep within the mountain (guests would enter through a cave and access the mountain's waterfalls and everything from there with the use of open elevators, but would then be lured in deeper only to discover a dark ride (AquaTrax) that helps rid the island once and for all from the evil forces within).

I don't see why not. Skull Island could be divided up into section, like Skull Mountain has all the big thrill rides and a highly-themed water coaster inside, a smaller mountain has more mild slides, the valley between them houses the kiddie area, lazy river surrounds the park making it an island, big wave pool with craggy, rocky edges. There's a whole lot they could do with a mystical tropical island home to dinosaurs and a giant ape. The extension of IoA idea just seems kind of... like a rip off to me. I'd rather keep Islands whole, not seperated.

If it hasn't been released, or dismissed, by Universal, then no. Sorry.

See, I think making the water park as a separate gate, yet having the story be tied to IoA is terrific. IoA has such a GREAT story I'd love to see another property included in it.

Heck, I'd love to see the fourth hotel be added into the story as well. Make that whole section of the resort intertwined.

Epic it was you were trying to say. And something unique that you would only be able to experience there.

I think a zip line would be awesome, maybe like that one at blizzard beach but at a larger scale. What do you guys think will happen to Wet 'N Wild? Personally, I think it would be smart for Universal to bring over some of those slides to "Wondersea" because they could save alot of money. WnW has great slides, its just that the park is kind of rusty and old. If they end up doing this, closing WnW is definitely a possibility.
