All I've heard is that the wheels have gotten in motion again.

Interesting. Never knew they stopped.

I wonder how far along in the process they are...

Me likes. How awesome would it be to have a brand spankin' new themed water park in Orlando to rival Wet N Wild which has no theming (even though it's owned by Uni, no?), and also take down Aquatica and Disney's water parks which each have a single theme. And we could have a water ride or area themed to Jaws, which would be pretty cool and it would appease the occupy Jaws crowd

I meant as far as getting it actually happening soon.

Oh, and Wet'n'Wild will have no rival. Just sayin'. :sneaky:

Interesting.

And if they move the Wet'n'Wild slides, I really hope they theme them, at least.

Yay. I'm way more excited about this than the Potter expansion, so I really hope they announce something about it soon.

It'll be after the New Year whenever they celebrate the centennial. They will also announce the Potter upgrade at that time.

Its almost like Orlando is getting its own renovation plan similar to USH got with their whole 10 year upgrade plan. Orlando is getting theirs too. But remember this waterpark would just be a movement of the current slide and WNW and rethemed to whatever they will be themed to.

As long as they theme it I'm cool with that.

And they need some sort of epic lazy river. In my dreams it's one that incorporates Jaws and Kong.

not sure what you all mean the the movement of WnW Universal only has a contract with WnW and has no Ownership as far as I have hear WnW is staying they are killing in ticket sales everyday Universal now with money just wants more $$$ and what a great way then to just build your own

also to keep the Resort idea going this will NOT have it's own parking lot but you will have to walk thru City Walk the idea is more sales spend the hot half in a water park and the ride some coasters and eat dinner in City Walk , enjoy a movie or mini golf and call it a day

they are starting (thank God) to build on the Disney idea to offer everything on site so a guest should not have to leave

Walking to the theme parks from the parking garages is one thing, but walking even farther from them to a water park dressed in a swimsuit and sandals? That would not appeal to most people. Make it accessable from the road and CityWalk, I say.

Universal actually does own Wet N Wild, its more than just a partnership.

Yeap and you are right about that they will feed these guests from Citywalk and not a new parking garage, it makes the most logical sense.

Ideally I'm sure WDW wishes Downtown Disney would lead into their parks like it does in California.

I'm not sure about having the water park guests park in the main garages... Some people barely wear a t-shirt over what they are wearing to a water park and it might not be the right idea to see going through citywalk... Though i'm not against the option of parking in the garage and taking a watercraft over in addition to a surface lot or mini-garage for the waterpark...

that way they could encourage those who want to visit IOA too to park in the main garage and bring a change of clothes...

Maybe making it accessible to City Walk, but have signs pointing to a different parking lot?

But where would they branch off of City Walk? If there isn't a dedicated garage, it has to be somewhere accessible pretty easily from both sections of the garage.

Im pretty sure UOR would have the common sense to put the parking lot closer to the water park if it ever happens.

It makes the most sense, but not that I'm looking at a map, the only way for people to get there from CityWalk would be an elevated moving walkway going above the street. Since one of the hotels would be sitting right next to the park as well, which obstructs a direct path to it.

So yea more than likely, its own parking, but there still has to be a way to get into Citywalk and the other parks easily, more than likely a water transport connecting.
