That article sounded like dreamy conjecture to me. I can understand why you might think it was someone from here as much of the facts they posted was procured from this website. Some of it was insider info... ahem.

..Hasn't it been said that there may be something Zelda in the works for this..? As the "Article" also points out that Zelda and Pokémon will be two of the other rides for this land..

I don't think I've read anyone here say anything about a Pokemon ride. In fact, I think it's been shot down as a possibility since the day of the announcement. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Pokemon is not included in the current plans.

At this point, I'm expecting the land to only be Mario/Donkey Kong, though that's conjecture on my part.

Isn't there a rumor of Universal doing a new night time fireworks show to replace CineSpec? If so, I put my vote in for this music to play during some kind of Nintendo medley.

Mario Galaxy has some of the best music of any medium. I totally agree with you on this. Not just this song, but the entire soundtrack is full of magic.

Imagine if they could create starbits flying around while that is playing.

When the announcement was first made my mind immediately went to one thing: a Mario Galaxy version of Space Fantasy with maybe a different layout since it would have the advantage of a new building. The music would be amazing to hear during a roller coaster ride through space. Now listen to this and imagine waiting in line for a Mario Galaxy ride. Not including opening fanfare, just the slow part.

But I guess Universal Creative wanted to avoid a retread of something they've already done and I can respect that. Mario Kart sounds promising.

You know how DHS has a temporary, albeit very enjoyable and well-put together Star Wars fireworks show currently with fireworks synchronized to the best scores in Star Wars?

Imagine if Universal did a Super Mario firework show during the first summer or so the land is open...

Over/under 2020 when people start complaining UOR is putting too much Nintendo into the parks, like some are doing now with Potter.

Probably. Even though unlike two Potter lands Nintendo would be very different between lands. Mario =/= Zelda and so forth.

Exactly. I could see some complaining (since when is there ever a time no one complains? :p ), but overall I think Uni would be given a little more leeway if they decided to give Nintendo a lot of land, or expansion areas, since Nintendo owns a whole bunch of different franchises which are very different from one another in terms of characters, universes, and atmosphere (not to say there aren't some commonalities as well, but point being all their franchises hold up on their own).

If Uni decided to just do things involving Mario and the Mushroom Kingdom, then I could see it. If they do something like Mushroom Kingdom, Hyrule, and a land based around Pikmin (wishful thinking on that, not too known of a franchise but I think it would make for a fantastic land and attractions), then I don't think there would be too much to be upset about as they are all quite different from each other.

The thing is the IPs Nintendo 100% own are nothing like each other. I know there is a lot of conjecture for Nintendo to focus on as few IPs as possible but in the press release Nintendo said the purpose of them going into theme parks was to help increase their sales. Focusing solely on two of their most popular IPs (Mario and Donkey Kong) already won't give them what they want which is why I think they would use this as an opportunity to expose more of their properties like Kirby and Fire Emblem.

Fire Emblem, Kirby, Mario and Friends, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Earthbound, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Pokemon (Nintendo has 49% ownership while game freak has 51% so its owned by both but Nintendo isn't majority owner) and Metroid don't exactly fall into similiar aesthetics and a vastly different worlds. A fan of Metroid would most likely hate Animal Crossing because its too cutesy with talking animals.

If they do add Nintendo to Cinespec they should just do a orchestra medley of all the great hits from Nintendo ranging from Zelda's Lullaby to Super Marios Theme to Gourment Race (Kirby) even Go K.K Rider from Animal Crossing.

That has been repeated several times on the forums, but it's not exactly correct. In fact, Pokemon is owned by three companies, not two... Nintendo, Game Freak and Creature.

According to what I've been able to find, Nintendo owns 33%, Creature owns 33% and Game Freak own 34%. But it's even more complicated than that. Though all three companies have an almost 1/3 split, Nintendo itself holds the copyrights to the Pokemon characters themselves, which insures that Pokemon is only ever released on Nintendo consoles or Nintendo approved consoles. Game Freak holds the game development rights, while Creature focus's mainly on the card game side, with the occasional hand in the video games. Further more, Nintendo owns substantial stock in Creature, and even more importantly in Game Freak, with reports estimating they own as much as a 54% majority share of the company.

Its been suggested (I think LOL, it's been a long thread) that because Nintendo doesn't own Pokemon in its entirety there could be reason to believe we may not see it used, but after reading into the actual ownership details I think if Nintendo really wants it (or Universal for that matter) it will happen.

You're forgetting that Universal has a say in this too. They want the Marios, the Zeldas, and the DKs. They don't want to be building rides for second tier characters.

Kirby, maybe. He's a recognizable character. There's a 0.0% chance anything of significance would ever happen with Fire Emblem.

If we see Pokémon utilized, it won't be in the initial build. I could see it being a Park 3 or a Toon Lagoon replacement or something. Just seems like Uni wants to focus on Mario originally.

I'm not a Pokemon fan, so I don't really know much about any of it, but Pokemon Go looks very intriguing and I kind of wonder if that might be able to be integrated into a theme park environment somehow. Like, what if players sign up to be the contestants in an arena show and their app communicates in real-time with computers at the show so that musion images of the battle are projected for the audience? Or have musion or other effects integrated into the sets throughout Nintendoland that work with the game?

My prediction is that once Nintendo comes, there will be a lot more of the "Disney Mom" type of posters on here. :)
