Weren't you and I fighting a couple months ago and I said they needed the stuff open before Kidzone closed and you said no, it will be 2018? :) In all seriousness, I agree, they wait for everything to open.

That was before the rumblings of ET needing to close to complete their vision started.

The More I think about it....especially if this isn't going to be ready until 2020 or later. I'd prefer they put Nintendo into the third gate instead of trying to shoehorn it into the smallish 6-8 acre Kidzone area, with it's expansion possibly taking out the iconic ET. They could do a better presentation in a third gate. Instead of the land being put into a corner of the property (Kidzone,Studios), it could be the anchor central land of a new park. Give it a Jurassic Park type 20 acres to work with, a show castle you could see as you walk into the park, and two E tickets instead of one, plus two or three C ticket attractions, and all the other accoutrements (restaurants, shops etc). Nintendo IP would be an excellent marketing tool to attract tourists to a third gate. The other plus is Universal won't have to destroy the kids area of the Studios and decrease capacity for a few years. ET stays & is plussed. Kidzone stays & gets refurbed a bit. Reserve the next Studio's expansion for a Harry Potter or Beasts theme into the Fear Factor/Amity bathroom area.....Maybe this is too Blue Sky, and I wouldn't be saying this if Nintendo would have been scoped in for 2018. And KidZone has been facing the destruction ball for like three years already, we're still counting, and it hasn't happened. But if Nintendo is so far into the future, why not utilize such a strong IP to it's fullest?

I think they will be using it to its fullest. With ET the land will be a lot more than 8 acres. It'll be a powerhouse, and you want your flagship park to be the main draw. Nintendo fills a huge hole in their lineup in that park.

Also, we have no idea when Park 3 is coming.

To add to this slightly, I don't think Nintendo would fit the theme of the studios.

I've seen how poorly rides that are out of place are welcomed here.

Come on. RRR isn't disliked because it's out of "theme", it's disliked because it's terrible

That was the impression I always got. I think it's a pretty fun coaster.

How could they have ever done this without closing ET for a period of time to route the entrance and exit to a different spot. Or are you saying closing for good. I haven't seen strong rumors on that, but maybe I missed something.

Always a long line. There must be a lot of people that like that coaster. i thought it was fun also. And it seems to get a ton of people that re ride it. Seems every time I'm going down the exit, people are running past me and getting back in line to do it again. :)

It's awful. Uncomfortable seats/restraints, rough, and boring after the initial drop and loop-thing

I think it's a subjective ride.

For me, the music adds a fun element and I enjoy the airtime on the ride. I also have had zero complaints w the seats or roughness.

I'm not against Nintendo at all and i'm sure we will get bits and pieces here and there to keep the hype going. My main point, as you alluded in saying Nintendo/USH Hogsmeade needed to be announced... well so did Avatar because of the third party nature. I really don't care much, but i'm just saying, if those things are announced early and take a long time from announcement to completion, why do people rag on Avatar for the same thing? Is it just a general dislike of the IP? I'm honestly just curious.

I don't think it's a general dislike of the IP. I just think, even being the highest-grossing movie of all-time, it's fallen to near-irrelevancy. The announcement back in 2011 was definitely striking while the iron was still kinda hot. I mean it had been on Bluray/DVD for about 1.5 years already by that point. 5 years later... there's sequel talk yes, but nothing coming soon enough for anyone to get excited about.

Now should people be thrilled about this likely breathtaking new land and rides coming to DAK? Yes, absolutely. But I think that has a lot more to do with Disney than Avatar.

Before we get into a Rockit tangent...

The problem with Rockit for people who dislike it isn't due to being "out of the theme", but the coaster itself.

That said, let's move on from it.

Not trying to disrupt the hen house, but I never understood why people have such a problem with the theme of rock-it... I totally got it when I went to see Weezer in concert, while the ride was going behind it. That's when I realized THE STAGE is the main icon in this area... It's all about music, and Rock It just happens to be the ride for the stage. You got mainly live music in the area with the option of recording a video of yourself jamming to your selected tune.... while on a coaster. Whether you like the coaster or not, that's just personal opinion because I feel 50/50 about it. It's fun but it's rough. Let me just finish by saying that during day time when there's no music, I can see why people would go "Hmmm?"

So, with having a desktop; i made a quick wander to see what the size would be if they included ET to this.

Turns out, It makes the project have 9 acres; with the inclusion of ETA, Kidzone Pizzeria, AA, Barney, Curious, Fival & the Woody Woodpecker Nuthouse Coaster. In placing a comparison; Carsland is 12 acres I believe.

Yep, AA (Animal Actors) is included to that.

What makes me curious is on the potentinal sightline issues, especially with ET included. I'm curious to if Hollywood and Springfield would get a front facade, to cover the land itself; like London.

They could put something where ET is that would be nod to Universal's past and be a fun shooter type ride.

I wonder if it wouldn't even be hard, especially if its taken from the Monster Inc ride tech from Tokyo, and mixing TSMM tech to that; to bring a non height restricting family dark ride.

They did already make an arcade game out of it. Of course I would prefer something along the lines of Mystic Manor for Luigi's Mansion, not TSMM.

That's why I said of Tokyo's Monster Inc attraction. From all the photos and videos, it seems like Disneys best job in Shooter Dark Rides.
