And yes, Harambe is a quick service place, but as a local, I love just going there and taking in the atmosphere. I've still yet to eat there. The area and the theming is DisneySea quality though.

No, No it's not. A few stucco looking buildings with a paint job to make them dirty is not on the same level as DisneySea, not even close. It's on par with Pantopia in Busch Gardens Tampa.

That's a bit harsh. Disney done a nice job capturing 1 aspect, quite simpel, from the outside. The inside still look like US theme park shops. Even the Lion King Theater is a ugly mess inside that has nothing to do with the exterior. It's stunning how Universal embraced theming 2.0 years ago with Potter and Disney doesn't seem to be able to make the extra effort.

One would hope that will change with Pandora and Star Wars.

Wait..where is the "something goes wrong" scenario? Clearly your boat gets misguided by an alien creature and your sent down a raging river rapid?

"Something goes terribly wrong"...halfway through, the ride suddenly ends at the top of a waterfall next to a large sign that reads, "Value Engineered Due to Budget Cuts".

Curious if this will be another water ride depending on the weight of the passengers.

honestly, if done correctly. This could be the crown jewel of the expansion. Disney has been really hurting for a quality old school family dark ride. the concept art looks incredible.

If the boats ("canoes") end up being anything like the concept art, I doubt it. They look as if they stand pretty far out of the water.

I thought the something went wrong occurs first thing when you get in line and realize it isn't 2009 anymore. ZING

It seems like a "pleasure cruise" type ride, which I don't think I'm entirely opposed to. I would like to think there's gonna be a something goes wrong aspect with raised stakes on the flight simulator.

Animal Kingdom is a really chill and atmospheric park, and I think it's nice that they're making a ride like this that respects the fictional wildlife of this world. I just wish the source material was a little more respectable.

You guys are thinking of the wrong Theme Park Resort if you want the "And something goes wrong..." storyline.

That's Universal's Forte.

Oh, ok

I was thinking and was like, there aren't many Disney attractions that have that "And then something goes wrong" story within the ride. Dinosaur, TOT (which is obvious from the start) and Star Tours are the only ones I can think of.

But yes, it does look like a nice, relaxing ride for the whole family. Something DAK desperately needs.

And Great Movie Ride. And Journey into Imagination. And Stitch. And Everest. And Kali. And Splash Mountain. And Indiana Jones Adventure. And there are probably more.

Many of Disney's newer attractions use this trope. This was actually the subject of one of the posts at the defunct Re-Imagineering blog.

This is awesome, easily the best part of the expansion. AK needed something like this and so did the resort as a whole. Apparently giant, river adventure like AAs are being made for it. I'm so down

I just heard this rumor from this high up guy that AK will be getting a HHN type event to compete with Universal and this ride will be sorta like the tram tour at Hollywood but they kick you off the boat and your left to wade with evil Pandoran wildlife. Serious.

I'd love to know where you heard that, but I think we have a much greater chance of getting an "Avatar Weekends" type-deal (if movies 2-4 are really successful) rather than what you are talking about.
