“The animatronics for the Na’vi characters are gonna be fantastic. For example, their early animatronics would use 12 axis of motion and I think the most they’ve ever done was 32 axis recently. I think they’re up to 64 just in the face of the Na’vi characters.”

Damn I haven't really followed this thread since I have no interest in Avatar really. I was under the impression the new ride was going to be like Soarin. Now that I'm seeing an AA and an impressive one at that, I will admit they have my interest.

It's so good, it'll need TWO strobe lights!

Has that joke been done yet?

It's a shame that the Nav'i are hairless because they could just add some fans and strobe lights and nobody would notice.

This AA is much more similar to Lincoln/Obama than Yeti though and both have worked great for years. The yeti broke because they tried to have it "use the force of a 747"

I think it's time to lay off that joke for everything. As Sean said before this place will look great, but what will be the depth?

I think Potter has changed everything that a new land has to be. I think Avatar will be the most visually striking land that we've ever seen and will will make trips to the land worthwhile without even having to ride anything.

Its enough with the strobe jokes. The reason why they haven't fixed the yeti is because it is so massive, the foundation that it stands on is the problem. For them to fix it, they have to shut down Everest for a while. The bank tellers at Gringotts are always spasming. I would rather a company push the boundaries through innovation and encounter some failures instead of seeing redundant technology, cough Universal.

Which hopefully we will see after Pandora opens. The attraction has yet to have a refurb since the damn thing opened 10 years ago.

The same company that used innovation to create Magicbands and MM+ which ended up cutting investments from costs overruns and same thing with Avatar which also supposedly went over budget which lead to more cuts? Now those same innovations are negatively affecting River of Lights and affected certain people's vacation plans. Innovation is good when it is used within reason and doesn't negatively effect other things. Sometimes simple is better if it can the exact same thing.

"Supposedly" over budget. Rivers of Lights is rumored to be delayed not because of the technology, but they want to capitalize on the current success Jungle Book is having. About the Magic Bands, the guests love them and so does the CFO. Any new technology at first is going to have problems.

No, the show is having major issues. The "show" it did for media was bare minimum with no moving parts. There's big tech problems.
