Peacock will be the exclusive streaming home for both The Office and Parks, with other library titles set to debut at launch on the service eventually becoming exclusive to the platform. Those titles — nearly all of which are from studio counterparts Universal TV and UCP, are 30 Rock, Bates Motel, Battlestar Galactica, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Cheers, Chrisley Knows Best, Covert Affairs, Downton Abbey, Everybody Loves Raymond, Frasier, Friday Night Lights, House, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, King of Queens, Married … With Children, Monk, Parenthood, Psych, Royal Pains, Saturday Night Live, Superstore, The Real Housewives, Top Chef and Will & Grace.

Feature film library titles from within the company fold — including from Universal, DreamWorks Animation and Focus Features — will also be available at launch, though on a non-exclusive basis. Peacock will also look to Universal's feature division to create TV series from its established film franchises. Library titles available at launch are American Pie, Bridesmaids, Knocked Up, Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers, A Beautiful Mind, Back to the Future, Brokeback Mountain, Casino, Dallas Buyers Club, Do the Right Thing, Erin Brockovich, E.T., Field of Dreams, Jaws, Mama Mia, Shrek and The Breakfast Club. The Bourne, Despicable Me and Fast & Furious franchises will also be available.

Peacock's initial original drama slate will consist of a new take on Battlestar Galactica from Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail; Dr. Death, starring Alec Baldwin, Jamie Dornan and Christian Slater; Brave New World, formerly developed for USA and starring Demi Moore; limited series Angelyne, from Esmail and starring Emmy Rossum and based on a Hollywood Reporter feature; and thriller One of Us Is Lying. (The latter will be a pilot.)


On the comedy front, the original roster includes an updated take on Saved By the Bell from Tracey Wigfield (Great News); Rutherford Falls, co-created by Mike Schur (The Good Place), Ed Helms and Sierra Teller Ornelas and starring Helms; pilot Straight Talk, from Rashida Jones and starring Jada Pinkett Smith; a Punky Brewster sequel (also a pilot) starring Soleil Moon Frye; and the second movie spinoff of Psych. Those join the previously announced NBC import A.P. Bio on the service.

More than 3,000 hours of content from NBCU's Telmundo will also be available on Peacock, including original dramedy Armas de Mujer and a handful of library titles.

Lastly:
On the unscripted front, the platform includes SNL docuseries Who Wrote That, from creator Lorne Michaels; an original talk show from Jimmy Fallon; a weekly late-night show starring Amber Ruffin from Seth Meyers; and a spinoff of Bravo's The Real Housewives franchise.

They will reveal more in November but free with ads if you are comcast subscriber or have a live streaming subscription (Youtube TV, Sling, Hulu +Live TV, etc) with a pay upgrade for no ads while it is rumoured to not encourage cord cutting, limited access for those without live television subscriptions for 10 dollars.

I'm shocked they would give free access to those with live streaming TV.

I just want to point out Universal made Fresh Prince of Bel-Air but its distributed by WB, just like how WB made Seinfield but its distributed by Sony. Over time the distribution rights of these shows moved to other places while the production companies still remained.

Additionally, I didn't mention it earlier but the biggest thing is a lot of shows and film universe will expand on this streaming service....

“In the early stages we will be doing spinoffs but we also are in the middle of development of fresh originals directly connected to the stuff that we have on the air already,” Hammer said, stressing the advantages of doing spinoffs for cross-marketing new Peacock shows to the built-in audience watching the linear shows on TV.

Essentially taking what Disney is doing with Star Wars and Marvel but doing it most likely with the comedies like the Office, Parks and Recs, and dramas while they are still airing on television.

As far as I know, Married with Children is entirely produced and distributed by Sony Pictures Television that just happened to air on FOX, and Seinfeld is entirely held by Sony Pictures Television, even though Castle Rock Production took part of the series.

This streaming service, at least I would hope, should really be the home for horror films on streaming. Universal has a plethora of Monster films, horror films, blumhouse collections, just to name a few. Doesn't make any sense to not heavily advertise this service to that demographic. Could become a hit knowing The Office, Horror Films, and classic Dreamworks are all readily available.

Those are the types of people that are most likely to use streaming services naturally, so they're the ones you want using it...

And those are the ones that everybody else is targeting: Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max, etc. If Peacock is free to those users, that's a big deal.

I think they're going about this the right way; time will tell if this works out as they want. Like any of the others, they'll probably need for some of these remakes or originals to take off. If that happens, it should do very well.

Its confirmed internet subscribers get for free...it came direct from Brian Roberts during a talk with Goldman Sachs today. I'm trying to get a full transcript but the investor sites haven't posted it yet.

Mainly the reasoning is by giving it free and having a light ad load will give them the same amount of revenue as having it being SVOD only with no ads. Providing it to all Comcast users give them scale to already compete with the others despite coming out after all the others.

"We looked and said, 'Let's do something different than in a very increasingly crowded field' and 'what is our fastest way to get to profitability and do so with the least amount of investment?' And laying that on top of existing relationships is one way to do that," Roberts told the Goldman Sachs Communacopia Conference in New York City during a session that was webcast.

He said NBCUniversal's Peacock would be offered to all Comcast's existing U.S. customers for free, especially in the traditional cable TV space, in part to retain their loyalty in a cord-cutting era. Consumers who don't want ads or who have no Comcast subscription will be able to pay for the service.

"If you do that, advertising with a light ad load, with the premium content that will be on this network, this will be unlike any advertising inventory available," Roberts told the investors conference.

My problem with NBCUniversal's streaming service is that they don't really offer much in comparison to Disney + and HBO Max, both are owned respectively by Disney and Warner Bros., with a rich history of animation (adult or kid-friendly or both) and recognizable and popular movie and TV franchises both old and recent. Universal's recent franchises are Fast and Furious and Jurassic World, which are not as good as MCU movies, and the DC movies are starting to pick up good with Shazam and Joker. If only NBCU has Fox content instead, they would have complete justification in getting people interested in the service that appeals to all audiences.

Hulu and Netflix's data disagree with you which is why I dsagree with your statement about general audiences. Additionally, you are forgetting the one leg up Comcast has which will be Spanish Language content as the only major distributor with a spanish language production company (Telemundo) which already beats NBC, ABC, Fox, and CBS in total viewers depending on the shows.

Law and Order:SVU (NBCUniversal) Today Show (NBCUniversal) and Brookyln 99 (NBCUniversal) were some of the most watched shows. In fact SVU has been on the most watched shows for Hulu for the past 3 years.

And if you are arguing movies, using Hulu data....the most popular were I Tonya, Transformers, and Baywatch....

And the most popular show on the service period is South Park not owned by Warner nor Disney.

Look at Netflix's most watched original fims: They are YA romances.

You do know the most popular kid show is Boss Baby right? That's from Netflix's executives.

While I can agree Fox had some of the best adult/family animation. The only one going on Disney+ is the Simpsons, despite Bob's Burger being vastly superior in every way. Additionally DC Universe streaming site which was already focused on DC characters underperformed.

While Warner Bros does has some great children gems, most of the beloved shows that defined a generation have ended (Adventure Time, Amazing World of Gumball, Regular Show, Steven Universe, etc) and I'm sorry but they already overdue it with Teen Titans Go which was the most watched family cartoon on Hulu.
