Will this ever get removed? Especially now that SLOP is a thing.

I'd say it's inevitable now.
The question is whether they remove it and make it more in keeping with the surrounding Hollywood buildings, or whether they have a lot of other stuff to deal with first. I'm going to guess it will be option 2

They should be able to work on this soon. It’s not like they have a park in China that’s closed. They got money.

I have to hope with Pets Place done, that sometime after the holiday rush and pre Super NIntendo World, that they can take the time to refresh the facades.

Quite a lot going on in permits right now. Looks like they're getting ready to install a cafe in the NY facades:

I know the permits don't seem to indicate it, but it would be nice if they just did away with the NY facade altogether and just converted the front to the art deco style to match with the rest of the plaza. Glad they're utilizing that space for something.

Maybe moving a cafe there, so they can move something else out?

EDIT: Seems like this new cafe would have a size equivalent to the Palace Theater Cafe.

Back in 2018, I had heard explicit interest in the subject of retheming those facades to match the Upper Lot Revival period architecture. Though for whatever the reason, the development didn’t seem likely then.

Permits were for roof repairs and a new cafe inside, I think the facades themselves are staying
