Weird... I guess they did need a body slide, and it fixes the runoff issue, but mat slides are a waterpark staple. I would expect a new mat slide on the expansion pad whenever that happens.

I suppose a more traditional body slide was in order for VB

The other ones they have either drop you into a large pool or drop you down at a high rate of speed

Punga Racers reopens at Volcano Bay as body slide after lengthy refurbishment

Punga Racers has reopened at Volcano Bay after a lengthy refurbishment, converting the water slide from a mat slide to a traditional body slide. The removal of the mats was the biggest change. Much of the slide has remained the same but now features an extended run-off compared to the previous ve

I don't mind a traditional body slide of this fashion in the least. At least the attraction is back up and there's another option for single riders.

As somebody who's swimming skills are rated at a 1 out of 5 I appreciate this new slide that doesn't want me to die.

Ugh...so they’re going to be garbage in comparison. I don’t mind them changing it from a mat to body slide, but every Whitewater body slide I’ve been on has been far less enjoyable than a Proslide.

Long before on the climb up there. What happened to the elevator??
I'm old, I can drop but I can't climb.
I'm tellin' ya, the zipline from Aventura would solve the whole deal.

They didn't replace the entire slides did they? I thought the change was only to the bottom portion. If it was the entire slide then that suggests that Universal really hates proslide's guts after all the issues they've encountered.
