We're not arguing semantics. A screen is a screen.

Irrelevant. It's still a screen attraction.

You can't compare Mission Space to the Simpsons, that's ridiculous.

Of course you can. Both are simulators. Different kind of simulators, but simulators none the less.

Transformers is on a track.

When he said he was going to troll the Universal boards, I was expecting a better effort than this.

Don't get defensive, just because their slogan was "ride the movies" they really didn't have to actually do it.

True, Mission Space is a simulator but theres no other similar attraction like that in Orlando, or anywhere else that I know of. It exposes riders to forces up to 2.5G, more than twice the force of gravity at the Earth's surface. So the resemblance to Simpsons is barely even there.

And yea, Transformers is on a track, but uses 3d. And Spiderman uses the same tech, which I don't mind but its worth mentioning.

Wherever Donkey may end up, I don't see home being more than temporary. I don't think they'd spend money on Kidzone to keep a hodgepodge of unrelated properties, and it would make no sense to include Shrek in any new plans.

But the franchise is dead. I don't see how you can build anything new with any sense of faith in what you're doing.

I can see keeping Donkey around even if Shrek leaves. It's not like if they do the waffle cart from USH it takes up all that much space.

I agree. The kid zone area is super dated and a mess. Even though men and black is fun, I believe it's dated as well. And idk how I feel with spongebob replacing the whole kidzone.

FYI, Men in Black is in World Expo.

I don't see Spongebob taking over all of Kidzone, but I think an area with an attraction and a Krusty Burger is doable while having other sections. Kidzone doesn't need one property, but the land just need more logical setup and use.

It's supposed to be a "World's Fair" type area. Worked better with MIB/BTTF than MIB/Simpsons, btu what are you gonna do.

It would not just take a few weeks to open. It would probably be down for approximately a year to eighteen months to do a complete refurbish of the building and change it to whatever they end up doing with it. Transformers is an anomaly due to needing to spend the money in a certain time frame. DMMM was closed for nearly a year before its reopening.

Believe it or not it does only take a feww weeks for a turn around for the Shrek 4D attraction for a retheme. The only example of this is at Warner Bros Movie World. It had a Shrek 4D attraction with the inside being exactly the same as Universals (only theatre may of been a bit smaller). The show closed on the 29th of August 2010 and the next attraction opened on the 18th of September after a full retheme. Granted it had no exterior to theme. So Universal could do the same thing if they wished. If they want to build a larger exterior eye candy it would take them a little longer but they could keep the attraction running (slightly altered que to avoid construction) so it could take some of the crowds.

Well I don't think Universal will replace this ride without an outside makeover. Theming is the key in these theme parks.

Also whether it exists or not, it would be good to talk about Shrek 4D in a Shrek 4D ride forum. Now back to Donkey....

I recently watched some videos of the Donkey meet and greet on YouTube, and I think it is one of the best photo-ops out there, and it's also one of the reasons why the ride was still up. Maybe the sudden remove of Donkey was a sign of things to come for Shrek, but I think Donkey will come back and Shrek will stay for a little longer.

This is by far the best video I've seen of the old Meet & Greet.

Honey I shrunk the Kids to Captain Eo was what, only a few weeks to a month? They preshow theaters would be where most of the demo would be needed... queue and two theaters are pretty easy to change over to whatever they replace it with... personally I wish simple 4D shows would be revolving and be around for like 2 years and then gone again.
