This is the biggest thing Cabana did. First-timers I took last time were like "THIS is the Value/Moderate??"

Yes, Cabana Bay was far above our expectations. We split a vacation with Royal Pacific and enjoyed CB just as much, sans Express. The suites were excellent and the $89 a night AP rate was phenomenal. We plan on utilizing Cabana for one third of our Uni on site stays in the future, we were so impressed. It's definitely a moderate with value prices. A real home run for Universal & Lowes. Looking forward to Sapphire also, especially after these pictures.

Looks like the interior will be just as beautiful as the exterior vibe suggested. Loving the blend of tropical, rustic and modern elements! This is definitely going to become a favourite alongside Royal Pacific.

Looks pretty cool, but we're Cabana Bay people. :)

It's pretty impressive how quickly this hotel is being constructed. I drive by it daily and a bit more is added every day.

TPI just put out an article detailing room amenities as well as info on standard rooms, suites, etc. One thing to note: They state that Express was not included.

With all the new announcements, some of those details get lost on me. I thought it was still up in the air.

I'm pretty sure the original announcement included it. If not, it was in the contract between Loews and Universal. In the current agreement no future hotel will get complimentary express

I cannot think of anything at UOR that is built so far below grade except Transformers. Does anyone here understand how the wall to the left is retaining all of that earth? It appears relatively flimsy.

The money being spent here boggles my mind.

Isn't that going to be filled with water?
The water pressure should keep it in place.

Anybody know why they haven't opened up for reservations yet? When the announcement was made, it said reservations would be accepted Spring 2015. Could it be a bit behind schedule?

I have to wonder if they're having a bit of trouble finding out the pricing for the resort, hence the delay in mass bookings. UOR resorts have had really high occupancy the last year, they could be figuring out where Sapphire will fall in between Cabana and RPR

I think they'll already know. As I've said, it's available elsewhere

Took my weekly stroll at my second home from the Portifino to Cabana Bay and stopped on the garden bridge to snap a few picutures:

If they are extending the water taxi, when are they going to dig up this road by RP to start building the bridge over it?

And I wonder where are they going to put the RP Airways plane because it's slightly in the way.

That's almost funny as this project is going up so damned fast that it's way ahead of my schedule even if it is behind theirs.
