Like? I think they are trying to appeal the kids and adults here and make this a true family ride that everyone will enjoy. What other IPs out there do you think fit that bill that Universal has rights to?

Iron Man/Avengers, Universal's Monsters/Van Helsing, Legend of Zelda (having Nintendo IP's in 2 parks isn't a bad thing, is it?)

Iron man/avengers is already in the pipe line thus this ride has nothing to do with that one. Monsters/van Helsing? Not a family ride which is what this ride will bring. Zelda? They haven't even built Nintendo land at the other park, why would they randomly throw a Nintendo property in IOA?

This is by far the best IP to use for a children's/family ride for IOA. It's a new movie coming out and seems to have likable characters being pets.

This attraction just sounds like a pure win win. And the rumored use of AA's that nearly everyone has been asking for. And a fun family attraction that Universal has a demographic need. Added in the plus if it goes into that amphitheater space that's been a complete waste for almost fifteen years. What's not to like?.....Plus, I couldn't care less if a ride is ever cloned. Only an insignificant percentage of people ever visit those other parks. Heck, we still haven't found a single reader of this forum that's ever been on the 3D version of FJ.:)

No, though even if it was going there first, how often does something get built on one coast and not the other?

imo, that's the biggest problem with the Universal parks. Homogenization of the product to a T.

There's no incentive for me, as a UOR visitor, to go to USH, when the only thing truly different there is the tram tour. Sure, they have upgraded Minion and Springfield areas, but none of that is going to make me buy a ticket.

Sure. But that's under the assumption that they want you going to both parks.

Why not? Zelda fits in IOA perfectly and Harry Potter proved that a popular franchise could be split among parks. If anything, it makes more sense to split Mushroom Kingdom and Hyrule as they're two completely different established universes.

Because they haven't even began building Nintendo land. This is slated to open up before that is done so why would they build an offshoot of it before the actual land is open? I am also pretty sure this would have no effect on Nintendo land expansions.

That's because the amount of people that would even do that if the parks were completely different is in the .01% of their guests.

Universal in Hollywood is a lot like Disneyland. They are operated as more of a regional park with a huge percentage of annual passes. The amount of guests that visit from outside that market is a much lower percentage than Florida.

Universal is trying to replicate what they have done with Orlando making it a destination, not a one-day thing.

Honestly I get that the feel of the parks is changing and that upsets people but the complaints keep changing. It seems that a lot of times when Universal makes attempts to follow through on consumer feedback, they end up getting nitpicked by their fan base...

That's not to say criticism isn't warranted sometimes because it absolutely is - I'm very nervous about what F&F is going to entail. But the way insiders are talking about this it sounds like a perfect way to continue boosting their efforts at targeting families, and it sounds like it'll be an incredibly fun ride to boot.

thats why disneyland allows stuff like "Goth Day" or why they can turn haunted mansion into a nightmare ride in december.
that would never ever be allowed here, too many out of towners to have anything like that

Well, they could use this ride system for The Grinch - a beloved IP that fits into an existing land.

They may be on a time frame where they're trying to get as much stuff out to take advantage of the window of opportunity before the Star Wars expansion hits. The Seuss expansions will probably be predicated on whether or not the future Grinch movie does any good.

Agreed. They are targeting my daughter's age for this movie along with adults who will get the higher level jokes that kids won't understand. I can tell you my daughter will be much more interested in this movie than any grinch movie. She likes the Suess books, but the movies just haven't caught her eye as much as things like minions, Madagascar, ice age, etc.
