I'm not convinced that Universal knows they want it yet...

Who said anything about next year for anywhere? And where did the trackless rumor begin?

I believe Parkscope, IU, and OI are all saying about the Trackless. And IU is seemingly backing up the rumor for the 2017 addition of the USH gate.

Of-course; I can be wrong, but they wouldn't have the trailers there if they didn't want it.

(And I believe the chain of events went as such, OI reported it first on their forums, then Parkscope I believe backed that up here and on their website; and the most recent is Inside Universal {IU for Short} when they not only brought that up, but the Mummy closure that same night I believe. And all three sources I believe said of it being Trackless, in the vein of Poohs Hunny Hunt from Tokyo.)

I don't know what to say this... I have their project numbers but I guess I assumed they were tentative in the shadows of the coming film. I am going to go march around and yell angry Ricky Ricardo lines - both English and Spanish.

Unknown from OI describes it as an "absolute game changer" and "I would give up Escape From Gringotts for SLOP, that's how good this is going to be"

Now that Hate to Fly is saying he wants it in Orlando.....that's 2 really trusted folks saying positive things about this ride.

The plans I've seen are definitely a trackless ride system.

The rumor more recent, is that Hollywood is testing the attraction; and if its a huge success (which, it should); it would be ported to Orlandos.

The rumor as of now, is Hollywood 2017, and Orlando 2018. And to be honest; I think it will be successful, as its something USH desperately needs.

Testing the attraction??? How so? Watching a video, doing interviews or riding the actual finished ride? What does testing the attraction mean?

Just means that if the ride is a hit, it will come to Orlando. If not, it won't.

If you want to put it to subtext, think; Hollywoods success with Transformers.

I believe the original story went that the soundstage that previously occupied TF was to been used for HHN 2012. The effect that Hollywood had, where Transformers had big Potter like crowds when it opened, caused UC to possibly jump the gun, and wanted TF done as fast as possible.

That caused in turn, the cancelation of that venue being used for HHN22 and the sudden construction walls that went up around..June I believe of that year.

I don't get how trackless could be a game changer, but okay. It was back in 2000 when Pooh's Hunny Hunt opened in TDL, yes, but we've seen enough implementations of it to see the tech itself does not make even a halfway decent ride (Aquatopia, Antarctica, soon the new incarnation of Luigi's Rollicking' Roadsters). It's really all about how it's dressed.

I doubt this is a 2017 attraction at USH.

I have to think that they need to have something at Hollywood in 2017 to get people away from Potter. And especially if Mummy closes; Lower Lot would be on life support.

Well I don't know what to say to you, but while ground work has been done they'd only have 18 months to build a two story building, install ride system, install AAs, test, adjust, and open.

I am trying my damndest to believe that maybe they can push the budget to go and get it done fast, but If they don't intend on having something open at USH for 2017, its going to cause issues on capacity.

I mean... Potter is done and basically ready to go. They could turn all of their attention to this now and get it open at some point next year, even late 2017. (Also, in my head, Universal owns a huge warehouse somewhere where they build the rides and then only have to install them in the park.)

Yeah, Transformers was already engineered and heavily thought out by the time it came to UOR. SLoP will be over the top with animated robots, if - it - ever- comes - to - a - park. Universal isn't used to that short of Madagascar in Asia.

I think I had myself carried away about hoping that it would open in 2017 for Hollywood.

That being said, if more info comes, I'll try being more..hesitant.
