Sure, if we were playing Roller Coaster Tycoon that'd be great. Realistically I doubt that'd happen.

TL is in better shape than Shrek. Dudley and Popeye are good to great rides. The rest of the land is whatever, but I'd much rather get rid of an embarrassing attraction like Shrek.

I don't expect it either. But the problem is they've put DM in a location where it is landlocked and honestly I don'y think that TSoP would fit on the Shrek plot without, again land locking a potential big animated property.

IOA makes the most sense for TSoP imo.

Eh. Even if SLoP is big, I don't see it realistically needing more than one attraction.

It's not about having more than one ride, it's creating a more immersive environment that i'm alluding to, sort of like USH's Super Silly Funland and their far superior Springfield.

One of the other sites is saying that SLOP is going into the Shrek Building, and maybe also extending into the Donkey M&G area. I'd really like to see that because it would give Universal a way to improve the sight lines in an area that is out of date theming, namely the Production Studios look. The only drawback is would Universal do this at the same time they are deconstructing the KidZone area to put in Nintendo. That would seriously degrade their family offerings all at one time. But the idea of replacing Shrek with SLOP certainly has merit.....I've read somewhere that this has a project number, 168, but it wasn't clear whether that was for Hollywood or Orlando.

I think more families would be impacted by Kidzone than Shrek. Much more.

Shrek is just sort of there.

Yes, but the sheer size of Kidszone and how many people it can eat on a daily basis is much more of a hurt than Shrek.

No doubt on Kidzone being the bigger impact. I was really talking about the combination of the two being down at the same time being a problem. Maybe I didn't communicate that well. And I'd rather have SLOP go into Shrek & adjacent area and the Toon Lagoon auditorium be used for a part of an big E ticket Avengers attraction. But IOA is fine to me for SLOP if that's where it's going. Just happy to get a massive E ticket dark ride that has some decent AA's in it.

That's what I get for starting and stopping at Wikipedia. So, the ride will be from the perspective of a hamster?

If that's really the title, I guess. Maybe everything will be larger than life like the Ratatouille ride.

If that's the case I'm highly doubting the use of many AA's. They'd have to be HUGE.

I missed all of this, but if the ride is indeed taken from a hamsters perspective, could that mean the ride vehicle could be themed as a hamster ball? If so, wasn't this ride supposed to be using some sort of tech that was a dry run/test for another bigger ride later? If so, could this be working out the kinks for a JW Gyrosphere ride?

Or am I combining too many rumors and mixing everything up? lol

From what I've read on other sites, no, it's not themed like a Hamsters ball. It's, from some rumors, a trackless vehicle that will look like it's made from things the pets have found around the house. The vehicle is possibly an RV with three guests on the top row and two guests on the bottom row. Nothing official though.

I'm beginning to question myself if this ride will be ready for us in 2017 for us in Hollywood. There isn't really any evidence of construction. I guess they're waiting for the BO results on opening weekend to start going hammy on construction?

The hamster ball/gyrosphere comparison is funny because I could have sworn somebody had said this was taken from another ride concept. But I'll be pissed if we get a gyrosphere ride for SLOP and not Jurassic World, not gonna lie.

Pretty sure that hint was for Mario Kart, not this ride.

I'd rather they put TSoP in IOA and move DM over there with an expanded area and possible second ride.

That would allow for a complete redo of both Shrek/DM buildings at the front of the park.

We could lose both attractions if it meant completely re-imagining the front of the park entrance, but that's two family attractions we'd probably never get back. As much as most of you would love to lose Shrek, it's still an attraction most visitors get to experience and with minimal waits (usually).

In an ideal world, I'd demolish Shrek and DM and build a proper entry plaza to US, then relocate and expand DM into Toon Lagoon to go with a Super Silly Fun Land clone, the TSLoP dark ride, a Sing animatronic show, and Popeye. (Which can stay, because Popeye is awesome. Meanwhile if we lost Dudley I would not bat an eye.) But... this is the real world. Building it just over the TL Theater or just over the Shrek theater would be much easier and simpler.

The thing about Shrek is that it exits into a successful Gift Shop, is still a brand-able character, no height requirement and very little cost to operate. Its a small staffed 3-D show. It is going to stay until something easily translates to the space or they are ready to get rid of the building altogether.

I'd be fine with shrek if:
1) The 3-D was upgraded
2) The building was themed...

I understand the 'old Universal' production theme to everything, but they've clearly moved on from that look now it just looks out of place

Right. The Production central area is really the only part of the park that needs a drastic retheme (not counting KidZone since Nintendo is going there). Fix that area up and the park would be all around beautiful.
