Well I mean i'm just speculating, but we know that the whole Nintendo situation is fairly fluid still.

There will be a slight overlay/reference in Animal Actors. Between that and merch popping up I would not expect much more unless it is a mega hit.

I kind of got brushed off with this post. Shameless bragging for presumption.

I'll trade them Fast & Furious for Secret Lives Of Pets.

Good chance we could get both. The overlays are quick and logical synergy

I wouldn't call SLoP and Supercharged overlays. Hollywood is building SLoP from the ground up, and same sorta goes for Orlando's Supercharged.

Plus, they are both different beasts in their intentions, so I would wait off until both open.

Personally curious, why do you think (or know that)? I have a strange feeling that your answer relates somewhat to the current performance of the park and TWDA being the seeming hit that it is, even at Soft openings..

Universal really thinks this is going to be the next Despicable Me, if it is it will quickly come to both resorts. I also think it comes to IOA.

So essentially; if the performance of the film shows tremendously well in it's first few weeks of theatrical release I guess?

What if the film bombs, would the attraction be possibly a USH exclusive then?

Watched it yesterday.

Definite hit with families and watchable for me in my 20s, plenty of moments throughout where you think "that'd be good in a ride". And I'd say it's a certainty to get a sequel or 6 down the line.

They've converted the old Rocky and Bullwinkle store in Toonagoon into a Secret Life of Pets store. Window decals, signage and pretty much nothing but SLoP merch.

Because I think over the past few years it's obvious that Comcast wants to pump money into UOR like crazy since it's probably their biggest money maker and they see even more potential out of it.

Always remember the Comcast master plan. Turn the traditionally single digit % profit movie studios business into double digit % profit producers by utilizing film IP rights for theme park attractions, merchandise, food, hotel stays etc.

I still don't really understand the IOA location plan... it doesn't share much with the theme of Toon Lagoon besides being a cartoon. Replacing Shrek it would fit thematically next to DMMM and would replace a 3D attraction with a physical set attraction in a park that desperately needs physical set attractions and would further help the redevelopment of the front of the park.

And there we have it folks. If this sells as many Max's and Gidget's as I think it will, they will definitely want to make sure there's an attraction spilling out into a gift shop.

Makes perfect sense. Disney's US parks are the cash cow of the company.

I agree with this, especially if a dream works land is coming to a third gate instead of Toon Lagoon. But at least it's adding a ride without replacing. Plus they don't want to close anything else in USF.

Since almost all of the tickets sold, since Hogwart's Express, are now 2 park passes, differences between the two parks in types of attractions are less important. Most people are visiting both parks during the day, and for all intents and purposes, it's become one massive park. So one park being more screen heavy than the other is less important now. It really shouldn't matter much.

Except that Shrek is in the middle of the park meaning if the building needed to be replaced or expanded it would make it a bigger project and have little room to grow beyond its existing walls unless they completely revamp the area. Shrek is a working attraction (which they need as many of as they can get right now at Universal). The Toon Lagoon Theater is a dead spot, easily accessed from backstage for construction with lots of room for building out a big show building, and thematically bridges Toon Lagoon and MSHI in a lot of ways.

I know there is a lot of hate (on here especially) for Shrek, but it still draws crowds and now with Universal's purchase of DreamWorks Animation, it's got more reason to be part of Universal than ever.
