I recently took the WB tour, and asked an employee about that. While obviously hearsay, they essentially said they didn't make enough money off the event to make it worthwhile (especially when accounting for all the lost backlot filming time monies)
Yeah, I heard it was a great event because not many people were going

But wish they tried again, now if they had the event like 200 Vloggers would be there night one advertising it for you

*waves hand* Worked the event & was on call as "active back-up" for the entire run due to working staff at HHN too. I almost got to be a Conjuring demon, but Universal had changed our scheduling :sob: ...as for my roles, I was Freddy Krueger & Exorcist "guest".

"Horror Made Here" was pretty much sold out every night. The "didn't make enough money" is a load of crap. Was it perfect? Hell no, but I noticed a drastic difference between "media night" & "opening night" as far as event quality. It just needed minor house tweaks (Conjuring. IT).

They took 2019 off because of backlot shuffling (WB Ranch sold off, new offices etc). BUT they did have every intention of returning. UNFORTUNATELY, 2020 happened + the Discovery merger (takeover). We already have seen that Zaslav is trash.. so yea.

/End rant.
GIVE US ARKHAM ASYLUM!!! (It was so good)

I guess I should be clear... our guide did say it made money, but they could've made more money by keeping the studio open for regular studio use.

But why is really neither here no there. Point is, they don't seem very interested in bringing it back anytime soon. I'm glad I went, and I did like it, but at the end of the day, other events provided more bang for your buck. And some of the lines (especially Conjuring) absolutely crawled.

Horror Made Here was unfairly savaged and I don't understand why. I had as much fun there as I had at Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando the week prior. The actors were into it and they had some great gimmicks. The "guest" getting abducted during The Conjuring maze. Pennywise hamming it up for several minutes in the room with the scary doors. The Joker telling off-color jokes about everyone in the room. As a first year effort, it absolutely earned another year of attendance in my book. (And yes, Arkham Asylum was a blast. With another couple years of tweaks and budget, it would have rivaled many of my favorite mazes.)

I went back and looked at my receipt and I paid $49 for a ticket (Midsummer Scream Presale). Honestly, I think that's a pretty good value, even accounting for inflation. And as I recall, I didn't wait any longer than your average HHN house for The Conjuring, which was by far the longest line. But to your point, WB isn't in the philanthropy business, so it's no surprise it died.

That's why the Six Flags issues in particular are so grating. WB pulled off a relatively quality event on their first year, and Six Flags cannot get this right despite years of practice. It's not like Halloween sneaks up on you every year. They could hire someone to do this event.

They made tweaks here/there throughout the entire event too. By week 2 or 3, they had a Freddy/Jason added to the SZ midway for photo-ops because guests wanted it.

Here's a pic of me as Freddy

And that night I hung out with Regan

They could hire so⁰money to do this event.
Oh oh! Pick me! I volunteer! (I'd be such an a$$ lol) Honestly, I wouldn't want that headache lol
