That is still quite confusing. The last video update of vehicle testing definitely showed the RVs moving through the gates more fluidly.

But I agree, whether it was done off hours or not. Not seeing the RV travel through a opening and closing gate is just a logical reason for some of us to control our emotions and excitement.

And to respond to previous post. You'd think a door mechanism would be able to work effortlessly. I refer you to the many contradicting examples....."Welcome to Jurassic...oh crap we left the gate open"

Of course not everything is going to be working on soft opening. I remember when Spider-Man got updated and for the first couple of months the CO2 cannons that used to go off were happening every other ride, until they removed them permanently later on.

I would not be surprised if softs started before the doors are running 100%

I actually asked about this and I have been told that the show would be totally screwed up with the doors open.

This is kinda what I was getting at regarding the speed of the RVs thru the gate. Those show doors are still open for a while.

Having not seen them work fluidly with the RV is my reservation.

At some point they're gonna have to say "Oh well, we'll fix it on the fly."

That's what the testing period is for.

I figured that both sets of doors happen at the same time and are instructed by the same sensors. That said, I have never asked so that is conjecture.

Every time I've seen the doors tested they have opened independently. They never appeared to be working as a team.

Do we know if the long rumored "indoor only" version of the ride is true? So, when it is raining outside, the ride can still run and just skips the outside. If so, they could be testing like crazy without us even knowing.

Since I am going in Sept I really don't want to spoil it but I know I won't be able to control myself and will be on youtube as soon as softs start just waiting for the first video!

It is absolutely true and this is how the ride tested for months since November. They only started outside once they were themed to the attraction.

Agreed but as I've seen it, it did not seem like they opened with any consistency. So I don't know.

FYI The attraction open for TM's in IOA tonight is NOT Kong. Still looking at softs for this weekend.

Exactly, and that is not good at all. Trust me, I am biting my knuckle that they are forcing it open so soon.

Thanks for all the updates on softs. I have off next Tuesday and Wednesday. If I hear anything on twitter, I'm driving an hour and a half to the parks just for this. Hopefully I'll get a chance to ride it. Do softs usually happen later on in the day?

Here's a raw video of the new Skull Island area music. The best part starts about 1 minute in... sounds like a "main theme" to me. There's also new jungle insects and bird sounds in different speakers.
