Skull Island: Reign of Kong - General Discussion

I've waited in the King Kong line when it has been a 90 minute wait, and it's honestly not too bad, and it also moves pretty fast. When I went I scheduled to go into Universal Studios first, ride Rip Ride Rocket/Transformers at 7:45/8 (i had early entry), and do every ride at Studios before afternoon. Then during mid-afternoon, almost everything at Islands was a walkon other than Kong/Dudley's, so you just kinda have to expect to wait those times. You can still ride pretty much everything there. Express is nice, but it isn't 100% needed either

So with Forbidden Journey finally getting a break, maybe after Hulk opens they'll take it down for some much needed rehab?

Just so it's after I'm done on my vacation Oct. 8th. ...Seriously though, it seems they were trying to do some of that stuff during the evenings back in May. Since the ride has never been shut down for a refurb, it would be interesting to know what really needs done, and how much down time would be needed. You often have reliable info. Have you heard anything on this?..... Seems like they've abandoned the 3D idea, which is good news if true.

So, does anyone know what the problem is with the outside portion? This morning it did not work and not because it was raining, so I am thinking it must be one of two things, either the road gives trouble when wet (yesterday night there was rain I think), or, there are issues with the wireless navigation etc. on the outside part.

I think Kong wasn't running with the usual 3 trucks this morning, only 2. Skipping the outside portion makes a shorter ride and a shorter ride makes a faster moving queue.

I thought I'd do a posting for the early theme park goers. The parks both opened at 8:00 AM, and they both had early entry at 7:00 AM.

So I'm curious - doesn't Gringott's have worse lines than FJ? Are they more comparable to Kong? We will be coming out next week but only for a couple of days so I want to make best use of our time to get both rides in. It is so great, by the way, to see a discussion board that is so very alive and kicking.

We will be coming out next week but only for a couple of days so I want to make best use of our time to get both rides in. Tbh, when I watched JB I was thinking he looked a bit like Kong so I think it could be seen either way.

Yes, Gringotts lines have generally been less than FJ the past year. I'd say that summer times for Gringotts are usually in the 30-45 minute range during morning & evening, and sometimes a bit less in the off season. Of course, around 12:00 to 4:00 all lines are longer, especially in the summer. HE also isn't bad in the morning and late day, but it will get busy in the afternoons. Kong seems to have shaved 15-20 minutes off the FJ wait times.....Sometimes single rider is the way to go if lines are long.

Welcome to OU. Short of Magic, which is primarily Disney, this may be the busiest forum around for Orlando. And OU definitely has the best inside Universal insider info. But what sets OU above the rest is that it's a very friendly forum. There's only a couple of grumpy posters. Most everyone is friendly and respectful of other's opinions. Of course, there are opinions that disagree, but generally we agree to disagree.

Yesterday it said 20 minutes around 10h30, ended up being 30 minutes though due to technical difficulties.
