The only breakdown today I know of was when I was in line the first time but the line kept moving anyway. Wasn't too long either. AFAIK all effects worked on both of my rides.

Then it should be absolutely perfect in 5 months, right? :)

I almost forgot, the drivers I had were the paleontologist and Denham. I liked Denham the best and the AAs are pretty good for what they are.

Second ride over. I was in the back all the way to the left. Not as good as my first ride in row 6 on the right but still in the middle. My second ride though there was some cheering after the 360 scene ended, then gasps from the same people when we got to Kong. Best AA I've ever seen, bar none. The facial expressions are spot on. I know it isn't but the ride does feel short. I'm attributing that to the excitement of the 360 scene.

Second impression of the ride, I don't know. Mummy and Gringotts are different kinds of rides since they're coasters and then we have MIB. Decisions, decisions... Do I have to rank them?

Here's a good way to rank: If there was a 45 minute wait for each ride and you were also equidistant from their entrances, what would be the order in which you go on these rides:

FJ
Spiderman
Mummy
Transformers
Gringotts
(Any other UO ride)

EDIT: When you finish a ride, you then start equidistant from all other ride entrances, and all rides still have a 45 minute wait.

Well, the experience as a whole is great from entering the queue to the grand finale of meeting Kong but I thought the scenes with Kate were weaker compared to the rest of it but the creatures in those scenes were great. Maybe the ride should've just focused more on our own truck instead of meeting up with someone.

Still very enjoyable :)

Right now, I think I'd put it like this:

FJ
Spiderman
Mummy
Kong
Transformers
Gringotts

Bilge Rat Barges rarely gets above 45 minutes. Ripsaw Falls is usually longer lines than Bilge Rat Barges.

That is a pretty decent balance of wait times.

Yeah. On busy days it seems like wait times are fairly uniform. Of course the minor rides, like flats, generally have much lower times. I monitor those times often, out of curiosity, but this is pretty representative of a typical busy day. The only thing that changes much is that HE gets busy at the times of day when people move between the parks.

Its a monday, so this should be a slow day. My understanding was universal is slow early in the week, with disney guests moving to uni on the weekends. Is that typical?

Yep, in all tourist meccas families tend to leave on Sunday and then the momentum slowly builds all over again.

Got to ride this just once during my trip last week. We arrived at around noon last Wednesday and the posted wait time was 70 minutes- we ended up waiting for exactly 50 which was nice considering how the wait times climbed up into the 100s later on in the week (hence why I only ended up riding once).

Most people have provided detailed summaries of the queue and ride itself already so I won't really harp on that, but just to add a few more points:

- We sat in the 2nd row and could barely hear the driver (we got the young female native, I forget her name)
- The entire ride went smoothly without a delay, which was refreshing after reading on here about how frequently it broke down and had other hiccups during softs.
- Got to the park at 8:15 yesterday morning and the posted wait was already an hour. By 9:30 it had balooned to 120. This was a recurring theme throughout my trip and after riding once I determined that it was definitely not worth braving the line again to ride. First thing in the morning or last thing at night, it didn't matter...the lines were out of control consistently.

Wow, can anyone at the parks either confirm or deny whether a portion of these wait times are being caused by breakdowns? 10 days until I try out Sapphire Falls / Kong for the first time and I'm really hoping everything is working when I go.

In my experience there were no breakdowns while I was in line or on the ride itself. The only delays were caused by the people in line stopping to take pictures of everything in sight and those too scared to walk past the scare-actor area until it cleared up. That being said, though, we still only waited 50 minutes against the 70 that was posted. While in other areas of the park I frequently checked the Universal mobile app and 2 of the 3 days that I was there Kong was listed as "Delayed" for extended periods of time (2-3 hours). I suppose I just got lucky, but Kong is definitely still breaking down almost daily.

Not really. Monday's are often very busy at Universal....... Sunday "mornings" are fairly soft at Universal. That's the only constant I've ever detected....Probably depends more on the season than the day.

I feel sorry for anyone waiting 60 minutes for Dr. Doom. Like just why.

We were always told Mondays would be the busiest at Disney. Mostly because in those days people drove down, so they usually left on Saturday or Sunday (since they worked Friday), checked in Sunday night and hit the park on Monday
