App is showing a wait time!

75 minutes. :(

Guess a long wait time is a good sign for a new ride. Just as long as my wait is shorter when I finally get to ride it. :D

If it's any consolation, Kong's outdoor queue does a great job with theming and visuals. Way better than something like Gringotts or FJ.

I just feel people remember the amount of individual scenes and can't really remember the amount of time spent at each scene. So when looked back upon people think well only 6 things happened on kong even though that isn't the whole story. Kong and Gringotts are my 2 fav rides right now at the resort so I guess I like/don't mind the start and stop nature.

Also to anyone there, are they running all 4 vehicles? I was there last weekend and personally only saw Will and Jinks and timing the dispatch it only seemed like they were running 3.

Will the family winning streak continue? Will Avatar open on your sister's birthday in 2017? Stay tuned. Same Bat time. Same Bat channel. :)

45 - 60 is optimal, like FJ if you have 15 minute wait it is a walk through the switchbacks.

Wow the professional ride footage of the 3D screens vs amateur footage made a huge difference so I can only Imainge what it looks like in person

Incredible. More realistic than the end of Spiderman or Transformers in feeling.

I wonder how they kept the 3D in the Al and Tamron ride through a single image. Did Dolby create a special lens attachment for these instances, one that is only one of the filter colors?

Do you really think the ride feeling short is a con? It sounds to me like a testament to how good it all is. I was surprised that you didn't list the front viewing angles as a negative.

Ooops, forgot to mention that.

And yea..in this case, I do think it's a con. A small one, but one nonetheless.

I just don't get the emphasis on plots & story line in theme park attractions. How much story can you do in 4, 5, 6 minutes. If you could do a great plot and story in 5 minutes, books would only be two or three pages long, movies as short subjects, and War & Peace would be a few pages. People are often complaining about the story line being confusing in FJ, which in my opinion is the best ride anywhere. Then they complain about the story in Gringotts. Now Kong. To me, what's important is if I'm entertained and the ride is fun. And the more entertaining and fun the ride is, the better I rate it. Maybe I'm crazy, but I don't see the need for in depth character study, intricate plot lines, and stories that tie up all loose ends. A theme park ride is more like newspaper headlines. Just give me a ride that gives me a big smile when it ends because I greatly enjoyed the experience.

Yeah, I don't believe it is the story as much as cohesiveness that TT spoke of. If the girl had entered in the 360 scene and was saved by Kong at the last minute from the scorpion and a raptor and then we saw the back of her head looking up at Kong in the final scene... it would have tied it all together. I am not sure this would have made the ride seem like a true 6 minutes however. The 360 scene has to be epic and go by faster than anyone would like. I think everyone wants to sit there and watch a short movie with the motion base.

Simplicity and a limited scope are fine. Transformers has a very simple story, but I think we could all agree that it would feel a bit strange if Optimus never showed up again after getting mauled by Megatron before the freefall, for example. Again, simple stories are fine, but they should at least deal with whatever they present. Kong only really tries to set up a single character and still doesn't follow through with them. It's a significant oversight for an attraction that clearly had a lot of resources and talented people thrown at it.

I think the Gringotts' story is fine, though the villains could have been set up a bit better (and increase the volume on the queue hallway projection, geez). Still, it resolves itself well enough. No big complaints from me.
