100% this is a great choice

I'm so desperate for a small street level Spider-Man movie ( even if it has multiverse stuff in it.)

just want Spider-Man to stop a bank robbery or something again LOL

I really hope the decision wins out to make SM 4 a simple street-level movie. We already saw the multiverse angle from the last one. I want to see how Spiderman is adjusting from the change now that he is a friendly neighborhood Spiderman with no Stark to lean on. I also want to see Daredevil in it.

I definitely want something smaller-scale. Spidey vs. Kingpin (and a B/C-tier villain who hasn't been in a movie yet to give Spider-Man an opponent in action scenes). Maybe pair Peter up with Kate Bishop (as platonic pals), since she's also street-level in New York and has an existing Kingpin connection. Begin to slowly introduce the MCU's Norman Osborn in the background to set-up a Goblin storyline for the future.

And resist the temptation to get Peter and MJ back together right away. The ending of NO WAY HOME needs to have lingering consequences.

It looks like Tom legitimately cares based on those interviews, which is reassuring to see. Hopefully we end up with the smaller scale film that the character hasn't been given yet, and that NWH promised the audience. Going back to the Multiverse well is just the worst possible path forward.

To add to this, I'll post this here. I was going to post this in the X-Men thread but since this is about Spider-Man 4 putting it here is easier. I wouldn't be surprised if they shoved Jean Grey into this film somehow. Every MCU Spider-Man film has had a marvel character in it that didn't really need to be there lol.

Spider-Man Far From Home: Nick Fury
Spider-Man No Way Home: Doctor Strange

Not to say their inclusions were forced or anything, but for each of those stories they could've used actual Spider-Man related characters. Especially in No Way Home, Madame Web could've had that role and the movie wouldn't have changed much if at all. Though because they were making that spin off movie it couldn't happen. I also don't think she's playing MJ because well, we have an MJ. That wouldn't make any sense especially because they already confirmed Zendaya is going to be in the film so. Idk. I'm so curious how this movie is going to turn out lol

I'm honestly betting they're going to use this film as a prelude/setup into Avengers Secret wars now... It comes out a couple months after Doomsday so this'll be the movie between that and Secret Wars. Oh god. Why can't we just get a regular Spider-Man movie for once? I can't believe the closest we've seen Holland's version of Spider-Man in a street level Spider-Man story was Homecoming. Everything since then has been avengers level crap and multiverse stuff.

I think including either character (the "real" Mary Jane or Jean Grey) would be a little clunky. Giving Peter two MJ Watsons in his life sounds forced, while Jean and Peter don't have much comics history together as far as I'm aware.
