That too. That parade impressed the h3ll out of me. Really well done, would like to see them replace Hop with something, but the floats were great. Really got a kick out of Victor, err, Vector.

While Hop is by far the least marketable property in the parade, it's by far the best float in the parade, IMO

HTF. Guess I was wondering if we could debunk that other rumor regarding the flat not being a spinner

I agree! The parade and M&G are actually quite effective and very nice! The other day I spent a good 5-10 minutes just shooting away at the monkey acrobats on the Dora and Diego float. And all the while they had a constant stream of people waiting to get their pictures with Dora and Diego. Actually, I'm quite surprised Dora isn't being mentioned / considered as a major contender for a KidZone theme, with how established and popular the brand is.

Saw Cinespec on opening night during our vacation last May. We waited a while for the rain to end, and the show was far above our expectations. It was so good we watched it a total of four nights at the Studios, and really didn't get to see everything occuring on screen, since there is so much happening between the film clips, lasers, fireworks and water screens. Great for repeat viewings. Plus we watched the fireworks portion a couple of nights from our Portofino room balcony. As good as any Disney night show, an area in which Universal was previously severely lacking. We are not usually fans of theme park parades, except for the Disney Electrical Parade. We always skip them. But we tried the Universal Parade & really enjoyed it. Very unique & upbeat. Also like the way Universal does encore performances with individual floats & characters through the course of the day. Universal has a real winner with the Despicable Me characters. Our favorite viewing site, we tried a few, was the area in Central Park, near the Simpsons.

My family and I really liked the parade, especially the Hop float. The Hop float even came out by itself earlier in the day near Horror Make-up show, they played a few songs and had some dancers and acrobats performing and it was a lot of fun. I like everything that UOR is doing even the Superstar character breakfast was a fun time though hardly anyone was there.

Mad Dog, that is exactly what our group thought on our first trip back with these two new shows. The group was heavily biased in favor of rides over shows, and CineSpec delivered in spades. I think Steve Carell/Gru is a riot, so that helped too. We ended up going back to see CineSpec again, for a second time in the same trip.

With the Simpson's ride being new, I always wondered why they had not added them to the parade. Licensing?

From what I hear, they probably aren't leaning in that direction. But that is someone else's story to reveal on here.

I've said spinner since day one and according to all the site updates I'm reading else where I'm wrong. So when they announce it, I guess we'll see who is correct :skellington:

Hey guys, I've been lurking on this board for the last few days and finally decided to post. I'm a huge Simpsons fan and cannot wait for Springfield to open up! Although, with a 19 month old, I probably won't be able to hit up Universal for a few years.

I have one question for some of the posters...I noticed some people have 2/28/2013 as their signature, what does that date represent?

I'm thinking the announcement will be made in conjunction with a special on the actual television show.

Just wanted to point out, besides the buildings very obviously looking like some famous simpsons facades, there appeared to be a longer version of the simpsons theme being played in the area with some creative guys standing around.

:welcome: HomerFan! Universal has child swap for your convenience, so while they may not have many attractions suitable for your 19-month-old, you can still enjoy yourselves  Though, I understand there may be other reasons why you might hold off on a theme-park trip, too.

Anyways, hope you stick around here and enjoy seeing this come together with us!

I do believe HTF has it right, and we have a spinner coming. That hopefully will be another child friendly ride

There are ways to get around that. Serve it in a glowing glass or something. The drink is more important than the actual flames.

Now you are thinking in a way that I like. I love walking around HHN with that Blinky Cup!

Ive gotten a flaming drink at the Hard Rock Cafe at the Hollywood, FL Hard Rock hotel and Casino before. I was pretty good, a three layer shot type drink served in a martini glass.

I do not know the FL beverage laws, but I'm pretty sure the Hard Rock is on Seminole property and has Sovern nation status so it is not under FL law (hence the casino which also is not legal in FL).

I am going to pull a date out of thin air and say that Sunday May, 19 2013 is when the Simpsons expansion will be announced.
