Disney is doing some filming for the dedication ceremony. From Star Tours Live:

Disney did some filming for video that will be used during the upcoming Star Tours 2 dedication ceremony on the morning of May 20th. Scenes were filmed on Commissary Lane and the areas surrounding it with a cast of 12 Storm Troopers and two robed Jedis. We managed to get some exclusive shots of the filming process.

So...the ride opens next week, right? How bad do you guys think MGM is going to be for those coming weeks? My trip to WDW so wonderfully lands around the opening of Star Tours. :blank:

Oh man....Nightmare inducing bad, GUARANTEED!!! I'm trying to get up there for the grand opening, so I'll be sure to nab a few pics of the crowd to share with you guys if I get up there so you can look at them and say :"Man, I'm glad I'm not that guy". lols

Was it closed at one point? I was there on Saturday and it was open. No new merch, though.

Honestly? The weekends will be crowded because of Star Wars Weekends, but I don't think it'll be significantly worse than any other Star Wars weekend. That being said, Star Tours is only opening with 3 simulators running (What's that? Disney opening a ride before it's ready, NO WAY!), so lines for Star Tours will definitely be long.

I am planning on being there for the grand opening and will get pics and videos. That being said I will be with the family and if the crowds become just too ridiculous may have to bail.

Disney plans for crazy crowds opening weekend because the park will be open from 8:00AM to 12:00AM. I have never seen DHS open that long. I was planning to go opening but after seeing that I should be going weekend 3 because weekend 2 is memorial day weekend and should be crazy as well.

Shoot. I'm going to the Cast preview tomorrow night. No way am I swimming through those crowds on the conjoined opening of ST and SWW.

i saw in the beginning of this post they mentioned something about lucas-land. I also saw something on inside the magic that rumors were swirling about a star wars land. Then Lucas mentioned he would love to work with imagineers more, so i guess that rumor died quick. Also are the screens and machines still the same our is the ride completely different?

Same simulators. Dunno about the screens. I would imagine their new, considering the 3-D and the digital projection.

Please give us a review here Scarlet after you go to the CM preview tomorrow. Not sure if this is old or not but I got an e-mail from Disney saying that they will do a live webcast of the grand opening on the Disney Parks Blog and the Star Tours Facebook page at 10:15 AM.

I think I've found a ride for opening day!!!! :happy::happy::happy: I'm so psyched, this will be my first time ever being at an attraction official grand opening!!! Let's hope my ride doesn't fall through ray:ray:ray:
