funny how you heard Disney was looking for something star wars themed food wise then the force awakens comes out and you have instant bread and another type of drink

That wouldn't be enough.

I expect that Disney is already working on whatever in the name of hell, food or drink options (not just Blue Milk, that's like saying Death sticks can come there too, also on the Bread; as I can already see that as a pain in the ass).

Also, I expect Star Wars construction to start as soon as LMA closes down, as I expect that we will not see Star Wars construction to end around the time for DHS, Summer 2019 or fall 2019. I do not expect Winter 2019 or 2020 anymore, considering that Californias is now rumored to pop up around Late 2018 (And boy, the madness that's going to bring..)

Nothing a little mesquite wood can't fix.
Plus, if Disney sells it, Pixie Dusters will swear it is better than Kobie Beef.

maybe they can make a chocolate shop shaped as all the different alien dung like in Animal Kingdom? Chewbacca's dung will be priced a little higher than Ewok dung for obvious reasons.

Actually I think it's called "fodder" in the star wars universe.

Speaking of fodder, thoughts on this? I know it's the Disneyland version.

Spirit just returned to Magic after a long absence. Though I'm no fan of his, he generally has good info on Disney, though often inaccurate info on Universal. He's now saying that even with the change & push in Imagineering for quicker & less expensive projects and Ops pushing for a quicker opening for WDW Star Wars, his sources are saying WDW Star Wars will not be ready until late 2020. The park restructuring is too massive of a problem to finish it any earlier.....I thought that was an interesting comment (s).

It will be interesting to see if other insiders start to say the same thing or if he is the only one. I think this is a huge mistake on their part. 2019 was the latest I thought this should be released. They need to be in the middle of all these movies not the tail end.

In theory, could Universal open a third gate by the time this thing opens?

2020 or even 2021 is what I would expect. Even Disney moving fast still means a 4-5 year timeline.

That is pretty darn depressing. Basically two full years after the Disneyland version. But I guess we should never have expected anything different from Disney. That park is going to be an absolute nightmare and embarrassment for the next 5 (or even more, who knows?!) years.

I'd feel a little better if that turns out to be the case, but I'm under the impression most "insiders" are thinking late 2018 for Disneyland. Maybe they're wrong, I don't know.

Yeah, that's what I've seen for Disneyland also, though that might be a wee bit optimistic..... One thing to remember about DHS is that they need to change major roads, parking lot entrances, add parking lot garages etc. to handle any increased attendance from Star Wars. That all adds a lot to the project. During the final SOA holiday light crowds, they had to have people park at Epcot and Animal Kingdom lots & take shuttles over on many nights. Same thing happened when they had those two Disney Villains special nights. They just don't have adequate parking capacity plus the outside road traffic flow is problematical, so there's major infrastructure work required that's not even within the park itself.

It's absolutely a challenge. I don't think any rational person would say otherwise. A lot of this is the result of years of neglect (i.e. they could have spent the last year getting the infrastructure and parking stuff ready, for example).

But even with all that taken into consideration... the thought that we might still be basically five years away from SW stuff opening up is bizarre and just a bit depressing. This is a company that has juggled many massive builds (at the same time) in the past, so even with all the difficult factors surrounding the DHS makeover, I see no reason SW couldn't come online by 2019 at the very latest. Disney could work fast if it wanted to.

Really good article here.

Disney has spent billions over the past decade acquiring iconic characters. Its purchases of Pixar, Marvel, and now Lucasfilm have paid off, but Disney also appears to be resting on the laurels of the name recognition instead of building out E-ticket attractions. Outside of Toy Story Mania -- a popular arcade-style attraction at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's California Adventure -- Disney hasn't made subsequent investments in monetizing these characters beyond shows, parades, and temporary attractions.

That's a dangerous approach for Disney. Guests eventually gravitate to quality, and right now Comcast is the master practitioner on that front.

Sounds like their entire development system is broken. It will take some time to fix it, if there's true willingness to do so. Bureaucracies become a hungry creature when uncontrolled. They devour themselves.
