Sounds like their entire development system is broken. It will take some time to fix it, if there's true willingness to do so. Bureaucracies become a hungry creature when uncontrolled. They devour themselves.

It is. They move at one speed, and Imagineering is the problem. Maybe the new guy they just appointed can fix it, but it seems to be a corporate culture problem.

Unfortunately, this is part of Walt's legacy from what I understand. Imagineering (and WED/MAPO before it) was designed to stand alone and basically charges the parks for their work and is very protective of their role. Nothing happens without their permission and approval, and as a result things take a long time to happen as things filter through the layers of bureaucracy.

That is somewhat of a good thing as it ensures the Imagineering vision caries through everything that enters the parks..the only issue is it takes forever and nobody can get anything done quick..

I wonder how it works at Universal Creative

Gosh, that is beyond my pay grade. I feel I have offered a bunch of those details over the past 5 years.

It will be interesting to see if other insiders start to say the same thing or if he is the only one. I think this is a huge mistake on their part. 2019 was the latest I thought this should be released. They need to be in the middle of all these movies not the tail end.

I'm not holding my breath that this will be anything more significant than what we've already heard, but here's to hoping.

why would they pay Harrison ford a bunch of money just to announce info that has already been released to the public?

Because the vast majority of the public has no idea about it?

That's true, but it seems way to early to hype this in the first place. Harrison Ford is not "cheap", so maybe they will finally reveal some solid attraction details.

I hope so, but I'm expecting nothing much and will be pleasantly surprised if it ends up being any significant information

I wouldn't hold your breath. I think the rides will be super cool, but neither is going to be ride systems we haven't seen yet, from the sounds of things

But all of the media covering it does, and they will call BS.

I'm not expecting huge new details, but I think they may go a tad more in depth. They are making a Millennium Falcon ride after all...

The Battle Escape ride system sounds to be pretty cool from everything i've heard. Not something new, but something new to WDW in the way it will be used.

Not to mention it would probably take Disney until 2025 to design and build a ride system like that. IMO it almost makes FJ look out of date.

Dunno if everyone saw this, but there's a very brief pre-rez preview of the Falcon simulator ride in the video in this link
