Just like avatar, I think the land itself will destroy the rides. Not that that's a bad thing, I think diagon destroys gringotts yet the package itself is great. I think the Millennium falcon might be too similar to mission space and the first order ride might be too similar to ratatouille. They'll definitely be great rides but still, something a little more unique would be nice. Whatever I'm excited, now only if they'd start construction

The First Order ride will be more Mystic Manor and less Ratatouille.

I mean, even if that's the case, there are only maybe 5 "real" AAs in MM, so you're not going to get an AA-filled extravaganza

Sure, but Spider-Man is mostly physical sets, and Kong will be too. But that crowd will still crap on both for being SCREENZ.

For the life of me I don't understand how that's possible. Is it that it's a KUKA simulator? Or that it's on a track?

I find the second dubious.

Again just speaking on 2nd hand info from various sources

Screens in Resistance will be background and also use of projections...unlike Spider they will not be the focus

Kuka not exactly but the ride vehicle will move around in the show building, they will not be stationary. So it will not be like a ST 3.0...

I would also go re-watch Mystic Mansion video...your count on the AA's and non static figures is incredibly low...

I'll believe it when I see it.

I hope it's true though. but I'm willing to bet we see a lot more screens than the rumors.

Just saw some guy on the Collider comment boards saying how this will increase attendance"tenfold." When I told him this was physically impossible as even if Disneyland reached capacity every single day of the year it would only hit 30-35 million total visitors a year. Then some other guy comments "Yeah he's right, it'll only see about double the visitors. Around 30 million."

I can't imagine the nightmare that will be Disneyland when this thing opens. That place is crushed with people normally.

Still, I want to see it there. I'm interested in what the new Railroad will look like and how SWL fits in there.

If, when all is said and done, Star Wars Land (at least in Orland0) features 3 rides that are all dependent on screens to convey the majority of the action, it will be a MASSIVE missed opportunity.

IF, however, the First Order battle ride is more along the lines of Mystic Manor (which is extremely projection heavy, but features hardly any moments where you're just jostled in front of a screen, and features a copious number of practical, moving effects, figures, and pieces of decoration) or - dare to dream - a next generation version of something like Indiana Jones, I'll be more than satisfied.

I just want good rides, and both are going to be good rides.

You've seen the concept art for the new RR path along the Rivers of America right? Absolutely stunning. Reminds me of what the Calico Mine Train was supposed to look like.

I want good rides, too, but preferably not 2 new rides where little I'm looking at is actually happening in front of me or around me, especially when the third ride in the attraction lineup is Star Tours. Just for the sake of variety, I'd hope at least one could be on the more "physical and practical" end of the spectrum.

But, to be very fair, it's really WAY too early to say how any of this is going to end up. I'm hoping for the best.

Yea. I'm intrigued by the shoutouts to Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland on the construction walls too. It'd be cool if they added a new scene to the Railroad was it passes by SWL

I think they'll all feel very different in the end. ST is a simulator. Falcon is interactive simulator (and maybe a bit of dark ride too), and Battle ride is a dark ride.

I don't care if any ride has screens, it is more how those screens are used and if they are the focal point for the majority of the ride. I also don't care if some rides the focal point is the screens. It is more about the variety of rides a single park gives their patrons. I want a good mix of thrill, family, and kiddie (less on the kiddie side, maybe 1 or 2 spinner or carousal type rides and a play area) rides. A mix of the type of rides when it comes to simulators, coasters, slow moving rides, 3D based rides, theater movies, theater shows, etc. When the park itself starts to have too much of one area it starts to feel odd and miss out on a chunk of people. So for me a park just needs a good mix of things.

Right now DHS has movies, theater shows, live action stuff, coaster, thrill, simulators, shooter ride, playground, etc. So adding in a sim and a trackless would work well. TSL is going to add a flat ride and a family coaster. So in the end the park is going to be fairly well balanced. Now I do think it needs more help and more stuff. It will be getting rid of both live action large theater things along with it still doesn't have the quantity of stuff. But after Disney slowly gets their butt in gear and finishes these two lands, it will be fairly balanced. So if one is screen focus and the other is screen enhanced, it will be fine. Also, like JungleSkip I want good quality rides. If they can deliver there with a land that let's me feel like I am there (HP Style) then I think it will be a huge win for this park.

I just need a park that's full of good things. EPCOT Center was all slow moving dark rides and movies and it was my favorite part of all time until I visited Tokyo and Universal started to get their act together.

Now the guy's is telling me that DHS going up to 20 mil per year is within range and that a conservative estimate would be 15 mil. Then told me that because DHS is 1/3 bigger than Disneyland, it has a larger capacity. So he's argued that: DHS has a higher capacity than Disneyland and that DHS will pull more visitors than MK and every other park in America when this opens.

:lmao:

I'm interested in what DHS's real attendance will look like post Star Wars. Its TEA numbers have been super inflated for years, so honestly it would not surprise me if its TEA number ends up somewhere around 13 post SWL

Okay, I agree on the Falcon being on a track. Sounds like Gringotts but interactive.

I'm thinking more screens than AAs in the resistance ride tho
