"The Star Wars Experience" is kind of an uninspired and awkward name, as it doesn't really connote the idea of a "land" you can visit. It sounds like something else, not the name of an actual place.

Frankly, I'm surprised "Star Wars Galaxy" wasn't the obvious choice.

It sounds like a name that didn't make the cut when coming up for a name for SW Launch Bay.

I agree. I think experience sounds like a single attraction, not a whole land.

I think it will be known as Star Wars Land by most people as it rolls off the tongue easier.

It also reminds me of "Star Trek: The Experience" that was once at the Hilton in Las Vegas. Don't get me wrong, that little place was a ton of fun (extensive museum displays, Star Tours-style ride preceded by a walking tour through the Enterprise, 4D show, several shops, and a restaurant), but whereas "The Experience" moniker fit there because it was a contained, pavilion-esque thing essentially right off of the casino floor, Star Wars is going to be a huge, grand spectacle of a land. "Experience" just sounds small.

I know exactly where you're coming from and it's weird that the word experience sounds small.

The Star Wars Experience is a terrible game, whats the difference to note the experience changed between now and when the land opens?

Yes, I agree. It's bound to cause confusion. They've heavily marketed the present Star Wars Experience to the point many people are probably inclined to believe that's the new land. Four or five years later that name will be old stuff. They'll have to market it as The "New" Star Wars Experience or "Star Wars Experience Two", or "Star Wars Experience Too Far Away"

Also, are any reputable sites/insiders reporting that name besides Jim Hill? I actually really enjoy the guy, but he doesn't exactly have a flawless track record.

Big time point. If he was a baseball player his batting average would be about .125.

I assume that's bad. I'm currently 7 hours into a drinking binge, today was good day football wise.

Yeah, that would be like a Striker (Forward) scoring about one or two goals a season.

Now you're speaking my language. Given Jim Hill's reputation, I would assume that those goals were in big games and nothing else. Not a great goal scorer but enough to be an important player.

Quite the opposite. More like performance in "Friendlies" far far away in the past.

There was a conversation about this over on the magical site (i know, i know), but the point was made that the only thing we've heard about SWL was at D23 when they said the following:

"never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before wild space where Star Wars
characters and their stories come to life."

That was before TFA. So technically, anything in TFA was "never-before seen". Now this is total speculation, but say they did take something from SW7. Takodana would work perfect. It's an earth like planet, there's Maz's Cantina (Cantina restaurant), The Millennium Falcon takes them there (MF Ride), There's a huge battle on the planet (Battle Ride), and almost all major characters appear on the planet (M&Gs).

Do I think this will happen? No, as there's still 2 more films in the trilogy, plus the other films, so it will likely be some sort of made up planet. However, if they were to choose something, Takodana would seem to fit the mold.

“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.” - Yoda

I feel like that properly summarizes the operating procedure of P&R right now....
