There's no way this doesn't open at DL at least a year before WDW, just judging by the progress when I was there.

A droid named Jake seems to be wandering around the Star Wars Launch Bay in DisneyLand. Could we see this coming to Star Wars Land? Of course it's actually controlled by a nearby person like the Muppet Mobile Lab and those talking trash cans.

Cool....Wow, did people forget about this expansion. No posts for five weeks. I guess it's really far in the future opening has dampened discussion interest. Any construction clearing started yet? I've only seen some work on the LMA stadium, but that's not really part of the SWL anyway.

I love the idea of this but I can't help worry that people will abuse the droids i.e. push them around, hit them with light sabers, try to climb/jump them while they roam areas. IMO they would need at least two "guards" within feet away ready to prevent things like this from damaging them (one could be secretly controlling it idk)

Ehhh. Im torn. I work with kids and I know they model their behavior after movies. Typically those characters are only abused by the "bad guys." At the same time, parents like those who let their children climb into gorilla enclosures exist. These guys might have a child (around 6 or older) who just want to see the world burn.

Wow, "Droid Abuse" . Would that be something like the old "Dwarf Tossing' stuff that was going around a couple of decades ago (for real).

Or you know .... just put cameras on it and kick people out if they damage property like they already would anywhere in disney.

Aerial update from WDWNT. @Marni1971 did a quick outline of the areas that have been/will be demolished to become SWL/TSL.

The TSL site is just about set and permits have been filed to begin construction. The only building remaining on that plot is costuming (costuming no longer occupies the building obviously), but that may be staying for a bit longer into the project as a permit has been filed for refurb work on it. It will need to be demolished (and Martin has confirmed) eventually though for the new entrance to TSMM.

Basically everything from LMA on down to SOA area will be SWL.

There is too many shows at DHS. The park needs rides, as the park is at bad capacity as it is.

Still seems there's depressingly little progress being made in getting the Star Wars plot ready for construction. It's gonna be a huge bummer to watch the Disneyland counterpart open a year before ours does, assuming that's still the (unfortunate) timetable.

LMA bleachers should be down within the next week or so (not a guess). After that, spend a day or two taking out SOA and the site is pretty much clear.

Let me be clear and say I don't know when they plan on taking down SOA as right now they are focused on LMA and it is scheduled to be down about a week-week and a half from now.

My comments on SOA are simply that's how long it should take once they get started on demo. SOA isn't immediately needed to come down right now.

I'll take any forward progress I can get, at this point! I'm still haunted by the period of time Disney let the Backlot Tour just sit there, and I just want to see them kick things into gear for change.

Oh I know it needs rides. I want them to build the rides and have a show. The park needed a few more things as it was and smaller entertainment additions aren't enough.
