I did hear a rumor about the trains being larger and able to hold more than the average coaster train

Instead of the spinner, DHS will get a Star Wars themed ferris wheel. Jim just had his IPs mixed up.

According to Jim Hill(from wdwthemeparks.com):

The primary plan includes Star Wars Land taking over Echo Lake. It would begin at or around Hollywood and Vine and extend to the current location of Star Tours. Components of this land would be as follows

The Mos Eisley Cantina would take the place of the actual lake with Backlot Express being retained as another dining option.
The anchor attraction is expected to be an Endor Speeder Bike attraction that will replace the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. Details of that attraction are below:

50 guests at a time per track, 2 tracks
3 minute ride time
180 degree 3D projection domes will surround the guests
Capacity around 2000 guests per hour

An X-Wing Fighter spinner attraction would be a kid friendly attraction. The wings of the fighters would be able to move in flight. This would likely be built in the area current occupied by the Jedi Training Academy

The Jedi Training Academy would move indoors into the Sounds Dangerous building.

Additionally, they would remove the "movie set" theming. The Ewok Village and AT-AT walker in front of Star Tours would be replaced with full size versions.

Imagineers are pushing for a large streetmosphere presence with interactive components built into the surroundings.
Another plan includes Star Wars Land beginning at the current Star Tours attraction and extending further back into the park in the Muppet*Vision 3-D/Streets of America area. Other things being considered in the other plans include:

The Mos Eisley Cantina replacing Mama Melrose's
A full size Millennium Falcon Walk through

The budget for the total makeover for Hollywood Studios is expected to be in the $600 million to $1 billion range. A meeting in late June of the Board of Directors reportedly resulted in Star Wars content moving forward for both Hollywood Studios and Tomorrowland in Disneyland. Official announcement is unknown at this time. It was initially expected it to be announced at the D23 Expo, however that no longer seems to be the case.

Sounds fantastic but too bad its probably not gonna happen.

Does a Speedbike attraction sound better than a Millenium Falcon themed coaster?

You guys keep throwing around "Speedbike" and "Millenium Falcon" like Disney is going to even acknowledge the original movies.

Prequels and Clone Wars ahoy, just like SWW.

These plans are ridiculous and sound like they were written by some 12 year old Star Wars fanboy who can't grasp the idea of a balance for a park. Removing Indy for a speeder bike attraction? A full-size Falcon walkthrough? Who came up with this stuff?

But personally, the most irritating of all and the most outlandish is the removal of Mama Melrose's for a Cantina restaurant. Can we please have a real place to eat that is aimed at adults? Does everything have to be freakin' Star Wars themed? And what about the sections in between? Muppets? Pizza Planet? All that is going to be on the chopping block?

Considering Disney has a bunch of new Star Wars movies coming, you would think that they would want to incorporate the new characterers..not the old ones.

Because the new movies will NEVER be as classic as the old ones.

Sorry, they just wont, and Disney is smart enough to realize that. Even if they are good movies, they won't be loved and cherished like the originals, because they're not the originals.

Building a land off of the movies everyone knows and loves is a much more solid and smart strategy than basing them off new ones that are not guaranteed classics.

I can see Pizza Planet being rethemed to something Star Wars related. I mean most of the arcade games have gone away and the place does not have the feeling of being in Pizza Planet from Toy Story. I do hope though that either the Muppets stay or are moved to a new venue.

I can see them incorporating stuff from the new movies into the land, but, for the most part, it'll be based on the classic films. The people who are going to be paying for the trips to this new land grew up on the classic films and there are legions of star wars fans who would more likely make a trip for mos eisley, endor, etc. than they would for a land based around the new movies. But that being said, there is nothing that says in the new movies, they can't go to the mos eisley cantina. And really, you can about bet since disney owns both sides of this coin, they will incorporate some stuff tailored towards the parks in the new movies. Like have luke skywalker's son go to the cantina and order a blue milkshake and a fried nerf platter or something like that. Obviously not a major plot point, but could easily be snuck in so they can turn around and sell the same things in the park.

as long as the cantina has an AA cantina band show I'll be happy. I would imagine the "bar" will be a sunken platform filled with creatures, and the actual booths around the bar will be where the public will get to sit.

In order to make it authentic, they really need to have a lot of AAs in there. I can't imagine it will be a large place either.

As cool as that would be, it wouldn't fit. Besides, there's plenty of other things to put in there (Cantina Band, Greedo, etc)

Here's how I would do the Cantina. Have it be a big circular building, with 3 nearly identical dining rooms. In the center of the circle is a round rotating stage. That way the stage could be divided into 3 areas for 3 different acts. You could have the regular "Cantina Band" AA band. Then have like a single Robot AA doing a Stand-up routine. And have the third act be the band from Captain EO (EO was Lucas ).
