Planning on visiting on Monday 7/31. Didn't get the Early Access Pass, so I would have to show up at rope drop at 8am at the front entrance.

From the Parking garage itself, is there a tram that takes you to the Front entrance?

or

Is it that you can only walk to the front Entrance from the Parking Garage?

How long should I expect it to take to get from the Parking Garage to the Front Entrance?

As you can probably tell, I'm trying to figure out what time I should arrive at the Parking Garage to ensure that we can get to the Front Entrance by the 8am opening.

On a Monday morning where you assume that we head straight to Mario Land once we get to the Front Entrance at 8am, how long would you expect for us to wait for the Mario Kart ride?

I assume that it will take up to 20 minutes just to walk over from the gate to the entrance of Mario Land itself.

Also, if we wanted to try to book dining reservations at the Mario Land ToadStool Cafe, should I try to book reservations through the App once I get into the park?

It sounds like the reservations book up quick.

Any other recommendations to make a visit to Mario Land go through smoothly?

To answer in what I can do:

- ET, Curious George, Jurassic, and Frankenstein Parking all are about a 5-6 minute walk from the main entrance. ET, Curious George and Jurassic will require you to walk into CityWalk, as there will not be any form of tram transit to take you from the respective parking structures. Frankenstein is directly underneath DMMM, and it's walking path is direct and simple to get to the Hub security checkstands.

- For the walk as you enter the park to Lower Lot, it takes about 12 minutes to get down to the lot itself, and about 3 if the crowds are favorable (as you enter the Lower Lot to SNW itself, to preface that bit). As you are going at opening, it shouldn't be so bad, but do not be surprised if they use the Transformers queue to hold people up for a small bit

- For Toadstool Cafe, you have to be within the property to begin with on the USH app. There is a third party link that I know is somewhere, but I can't find it for the life of me

- If you are planning to get Power Up Bands for you and your party, there are locations outside of 1UP-Factory (The Lower Lot Character Shop next to Jurassic World, the Studio Stores inside the park and CityWalk, Feature Presentation directly next to the Studio Store inside the park, and the Super Nintendo World Store in CityWalk).

As far as wait times, I can't give a guarantee on the matter (As I have not been there in person and have had others help); but keep in mind that for Stand-By, there are two separate preshow sequences (and the Single Rider bypasses both altogether). And if you wanted to get Universal Express just for Mario Kart, as of this time USH is not accepting Universal Express as valid entry into the priority lines.

Reservation

Find a table online and make bookings for Toadstool Cafe at SNW in real time
zomatobook.com zomatobook.com
I think we ought to threadmark the link so it's easy to find.

EDIT: As a reminder, these first go up at 7AM, and I think there's another rollout of times later, though I forget the exact one.

Thanks for responding. It sounds like the best parking Garage is the Frankenstein garage?

Do I have a choice to go to that specific garage when driving there?

I'm not sure if there is a single Parking garage entrance that will direct you to whatever garage is open or not.

As for getting reservations at Toadstool Cafe, is it best to log in to the App once your ticket is scanned and have entered through the gates?

or

Are you able to login to the App and book a reservation once you enter City Walk but haven't checked in yet at the front gate where your ticket is scanned?

There are two parking garage entrances. The main one via Universal Studios Blvd will send you to Curious George or E.T. - the two garages furthest from the park entrance - unless you pay for upgraded parking. The other parking entrance, via Universal Hollywood Drive (which becomes Coral Drive as you enter the parking area), will send you to Jurassic Parking, which is significantly closer to the park without any additional parking fees. The only way you can get Frankenstein parking is if you pay for the premium parking, typically at the Universal Hollywood Drive/Coral Drive entrance. (If you pay for premium parking at the Blvd entrance, they generally send you to Jurassic Parking!)

Jurassic Parking is probably my favorite, though keep in mind that is also where they have rideshare/uber/shuttle services.

My plan is to park at the closest Parking Garage to the entrance. It looks the main entrance to get into the park is close to the huge Universal Studios Globe that spins around, right?

If so, it looks like the parking at the Frankenstein Parking Garage is the best and closest to the front entrance?

Is there regular parking at the Frankenstein Parking Garage?

or

Is it all Preferred Parking at the Frankenstein Parking Garage?

I have another question. Am I able to purchase the Mario wrist bands for the minigames in the stores on City Walk?

I'm going to be going to City Walk the night before we actually visit the park itself and thinking that it may be easier to buy the Wristbands before we go so that I don't have to wait in line to get it inside the park itself for the next day.

If not and I can only get it inside the park, where is the easiest place to get it?

I assume that there is a store that is inside the park but outside of Mario Land where I can purchase it.

Almost positive you can buy them from the Citywalk store, and doing so is a wise move that will save you valuable time the next morning.

If you do need to purchase one inside the park, I'd recommend doing so within the land - they have kiosks near the Piranha Plant minigame, and you can also purchase them inside the 1-Up Factory. If you need to purchase them outside the land, you should be able to find them in the Nintendo-themed stores near the front of the park (and I think maybe in the Studio Store on the Lower Lot)?

There is a Super Nintendo World store within City Walk that sells the power up bands as well as a lot of the merchandise that can be found in the land.

As I actually brought up--you can!

Power Up Bands can be purchased at Feature Presentations, the Universal Studios Store both in park and CtiyWalk, the Lower Lot character shop, and at the CW Super Nintendo World store last I chekced.

Be careful with the citywalk stores. They will purposely pretend to mishear you and say all sales are final on power up bands. Have heard this happen from MULTIPLE people

That's a big yikes from me but also you're not wrong. I'm one of the multiple people.

Why would the sale of the powerband not be "final"?

Unless the cost is more outside, why would I want to return it?

I think the US Blvd parking entrance may be YMMV during early access, as my group took it that morning and we got sent to Jurassic Parking as a pleasant surprise. Otherwise, yeah, I'd take UH Drive if you wanna get Jurassic Parking, especially since you're not going for EA anyway (though we've never taken that entrance before for parking since from my area, US Blvd is the closest. Had no idea you can instantly get Jurassic Parking that way).

I got told the same thing about final sales (no deliberate mishearings or anything) in 1-UP Factory when I bought a power-up band for a friend ahead of our visit.

Yeah, occasionally, you can get sent to Jurassic from the Universal Studios Blvd entrance. But it's not super frequent, the majority of the time you're sent to ET.

That wasn’t my point. My point was sometimes TMs in those shops will hear you say you want “Mario” and choose “Luigi” or someone you DIDNT say, and if you don’t catch them, they will mark the choice they gave you as final. This has happened according to three parties I’ve heard (including Kit and Krysta btw!) and it’s only the CityWalk Stores.

I wonder why.....like are they trying to push certain bands? Like all the bands do the same thing and none are sold out so no idea why CM would on purpose make guests days worst
