T2 didn't work because unlike most attractions in the park, if you've never seen the Terminator movies you're not going to understand the attraction, at all. I haven't seen T2 and the show did absolutely nothing for me. I did it once, didn't enjoy it, and basically skipped it every time afterwards. I don't have that issue with any other attraction in the parks, including ones based off properties I haven't seen. And with the parks increasingly becoming more family friendly, keeping an outdated, aging attraction based off a 20-year-old rated R film just isn't feasible. Bourne may be a garbage IP and a short-sighted move for the space, but at the very least it can stand on its own well and be enjoyed by anyone.

T2 didn't work because it started to show its age very badly. The films may have dropped in quality, but for brand recognition - Terminator >>> Bourne.

Bottom line is an action stunt show is just an action stunt show. They can be titled Miami Vice, Bond, Bourne, Man From U.N.C.L.E., or whatever, but short of maybe a theme song and the IP title, they're going to be basically the same. More key than anything is that the show have good writing, good effects, and not get overly corny.

Hey! This is my first time posting on this forum or any forum. I wanted to use an extensive amount of time reading up on this thread and others before I offered any additional comments or questions. First, I've enjoyed reading your quotes, especially @AliciaStella. Your videos led me to search for this forum so thank you. I have been a fan of Universal since its opening in 1990, where I turned 4. I can't remember much besides Kongfrontation from my first visit, but have returned multiple times.

Now onto this thread. Am I accurate when I say Bourne is a reasonable deliberation based on the IPs owned by Universal and not a certainty backed by a reputable source? I was searching for upcoming movies being distributed by Universal in 2019. Although not my favorite IP, Wicked still has a release date of December 2019. It seems business savvy to open a ride along with the movie, when the property is already immensely famous. I know there were rumors of the dynamics stage being used in the T2 auditorium. Universal may not want to place too much money on this attraction since it would not bring in too many new guests. Yet, I still can see a huge fan base amazed with a conjunction of Wicked and the dynamics stage I can't help notice the connection of Wicked with Frozen. Frozen seems to be popular at California Adventure or was. I have never been to Disneyland. Seems appropriate to make an attraction on the material that made the singer of Let it Go famous. Additionally, there will finally be a ride more devoted to women. This may be far fetched, but thought I would throw it out there in case someone hasn't already.

Welcome to the forums! While I would MUCH rather this idea, it seems @Legacy , one of the most respected sources on this site, has pretty heavily rumored that this will be a Bourne attraction.

Yes, welcome to the Forums.:toast:...Wicked has, on a few occasions in the past, been speculated , but those were always different venues. Example: Replacement for Blue Man Group............Most insider info indicates the T2 venue will be some sort of action show.

Thanks you all! I feel very welcomed! I must have missed @Legacy quotes. He is a very good source. If the show is definitely a live action stunt show. then it is reasonable to focus on Bourne. I just can't help see a redundancy in the genre of the rides at Universal. They removed Beetlejuice. Although the last few scripts were poor compared to the plays seen as a teen, I liked watching a show that was different in its story. Not that the cheerleaders were not male centric. Oh well, a more male centric story is probably a safer bet. Plenty of women love action films and only a few males like musicals. I do wish they add some variety to the genres covered in Universal, and not just the type of ride system. Universal could also use a well-acknowledged theatrical show, since its one way to accommodate families.

UOR is in DIRE need of good live entertainment. I’ve heard Barney is good for kids and the I’ve heard the Diagon show is good, but everything else is okay to bad. A fully theatrical Wicked would bring in an untapped feminine audience to Universal, and would be hugely popular.

Universal does the smaller shows well (Blues Bros, all three Diagon shows, Marilyn & the Bellas, other street shows), but they're pretty weak on the larger stage shows (Fear Factor terrible, Sinbad just a bit above average). The large stage shows is where Disney beats them big time....There's always been lots of interest on this Forum for Wicked. Many of us would like to see a condensed version in the parks.

Bourne comes from several sources and additionally @Legacy has hinted they're adding more fake gun storage locations and while I haven't seen Wicked I don't think the show has any guns ;)

Wicked was shown in USJ in a condensed theme park show, and I'd love for Wicked to come to the parks some time, but that just isn't what this project is.

Wicked replacing Blue Man Group has never been in the consideration. It's a successful and inexpensive show. Additionally the theater is nowhere adequate for Wicked. It's just baseless speculation.

USF has good street entertainment, Animal Actors, and Horror Make Up plus the aforementioned Diagon shows.

I was just referring to posters on the Forum suggesting that. I'm well aware there's not been any Universal consideration of that.

Animal Actors is intensely mediocre with no pull factor and while I love every bit of horror makeup, it doesn't have really any pull factor and it's not theatrical enough to be a good live show for theatre fans.
