All I know is that this will one I make sure to get through opening. Need to experience that wet path before they inevitably tone it down. Not a huge fan(or really at all to be honest) of the movies but if the effects are there I can see it being a winner. Gotta get a gimmick and why not bump it with a trumpet.

Within the first 10 minutes of opening tonight there was already a pretty big puddle, and now has been delayed since 10 for I believe the night for similar reasons. Not sure what will change, if anything, just what i’ve observed

Well, I think this lends credence that they're not doing some carny trick when it comes to the wet finale.

If this keeps up I wouldn’t be surprised if the “wet” path is either removed entirely or turned down to a light sprinkle by end of the weekend.

Some are reporting on social media - including an eyewitness account - that someone slipped and fell hard, with the maze closing after that until they can figure out a more workable solution.

I wonder if water was seeping into areas it shouldn’t or a leak sprung somewhere. Before you get to the fork there was a lot of water starting to pool beforehand leading towards that room, so much so that the person behind me commented that it seemed like an awful lot of water.

I planned to take the wet path on my second run through the house but obviously that didn’t happen since it closed early. I’m assuming the areas they intended to be wet had non-slip floor (think a metal floor grill) and the water got to where it wasn’t expected.

Anyone here who took the wet path know how it was set up? And maybe used spoiler tags?

I really thought the water effect wouldn't last past the first week. Well, they sure showed me. It didn't even last through preview night! The event hasn't even started yet! :dizzy:

Water is consistently dripping from above, but I didn’t think to check how it was being drained. Maybe 3-4 feet before the end of the scene though I noticed a puddle directly on the soundstage floor so there was at least part of the room without rubber mats or a way to drain

I said that like 2 weeks ago. I knew it was gonna happen. been saying it since the beginning.
and if people don't slip right away at the ending, they will slip outside the house, later on by the exit.
wet shoes are no laughing matter, specially with older people, a small fall could cause severe problems, pretty bad injuries.
and that's not even counting the drunks .....
it's gonna be a wild time dealing with this.

yep. I remember saying how it's ironic that this house will be like final destination. I remember mentioning final destination before,
universal is gonna have to require people to sign waivers to enter lol.
even if you don't fall, the person behind you can fall and bring you down with them.

I guess it answers the "how wet is it?" question.

I mean sadly....this makes sense these are temporary houses

If they could close the house or if it was a full time attraction this much water might make sense but when I heard about it I thought about both people slipping and throwing up because of it and the event is just too popular sometimes for the ideas they come up with

Heck, people online are already also worried Art might not be here all season because guests are going to swarm him for pictures and videos, same with Hollywood which has less walking space and a a lot of people

This is also why I try to go to opening nights because HHN has had many effects or character leave, like the big ape character at Dead exposure

From the videos I've seen, there's plenty of attendants around Art when he comes out - it just seems like a "mini-show" type thing like M3GAN.

if the houses had carts I would even understand. you're sitting down.
but a walking attraction with a lot of water is really risky

I laughed. But still ... they brought back the guy who's designed houses for well over a decade. No one broke through the cloud of groupthink to say, "y'know, this could potentially not work with the conga line"?

My guess is this is either totally cut, really watered down (huhu), or they throw out a lot of nonslip mats in the entire area of the house
