It looks like a Test Track vehicle was copied & pasted into the original Tron movie. We're in the 21st century; simulation realms no longer need to feel like 1980's Tron for one to feel like one is in a simulation realm.

Whatever. It's a lot more interesting looking than anything inside that building now. That's what I'm focusing on.

that looks like you are driving through the X-Men headquarters. Bring on the fantasy aspect, I think the ride is a complete bore now. Would be cool if the ride was about the future of cars and transportation, kinda like um..World Of Motion?

I would guess, if that is indeed real concept art, that it took a page from Spaceship Earth ending the ride with a theoretical glimpse into the future of car testing.

So there's no excitement seeing a car you designed shown next to you in a mirror, looking like you're driving in it? Or that if they 'tear away' the car shell you can see the interior functions and things to test? Come on man, get some imagination.

The screen was the coolest thing about the concept art, but in the artwork it's placed off to the side and unless the track is reprogramed, you most likely won't be stopping to take a look. The fact that in that lone piece of concept art they literally copied and pasted a Test Track car into a scene out of Tron is just off to me.

The opening has been pushed to November:

…The closure of Test Track for "reimagining," previously announced to run through mid-September, has quietly been extended. The Walt Disney World website now lists the closure as running through November 30, the last day currently on the calendar. This extension is reminiscent of the update of Spaceship Earth in 2007, which was originally announced to be returning before the park's 25th anniversary celebration on October 1, but did not reopen until December. In this case, the closure was originally scheduled to end before the park's 30th anniversary celebration, and now will be delayed well beyond that date.

Just wishful thinking on my part. I'll be down there for IAAPA and my academic conference the week of Nov. 11 and that opening date makes me a saaaaad panda. oh well. Gonna have to make up an excuse to stay there another 3 weeks.

Yea. It's going to be a serious upgrade. And this is much more in line with EPCOT's core.

Very cool stuff. Crossing my fingers but not holding my breath on earlier opening date. It looks like they'll need all the time they can get for this one. Wonder if we'll be "derezzed" at the end, haha jk. Looks awesome!
