Can anyone say where they saw the confirmation of the Test Track refurb closing date other than the Sentinel article? There is no official word from Disney that I could find anywhere. I also hate the official Disney site. Their calenders there also did not have it on any refurbishment schedule list that I saw. Which is nothing out of the ordinary for how horrible their site is often run.

Checking with sources says it's still on for that timeline. But yea, it's odd that DIsney isn't saying a peep about it at all.

They don't want guests to panic. Disney sees Test Track as half the Epcot attraction experience and are scared to death about its closure.

The vast majority of the people coming during the time it's closed already have their vacations booked. This won't kill them.

Or at least not create mediocre ones or magically turn good experiences into lesser.

If Disney actually spent the money I will be. But I am expecting a Space Mountain kind of change with new branding from GM in the queue. I would be willing to bet the biggest change of the ride portion will be a speed tunnel type effect.

The ride was in terrible shape. So to me, as long as the ride gets the TLC it needs while it's down, this is a win. Anything on top of that is just gravy.

No argument there. The ride's physical effects were not even working anymore. It was more of just speeding by set pieces. That being said, I would expect even less of physical nature and more screens.

http://www.epcyclopedia.com/2012/04/09/test-track-as-it-will-appear-on-the-april-16th-epcot-park-map/

Early look at the Epcot park map with tarps over Test Track from epcyclopedia.com. R.A., the person running the site, also links to the permit paperwork for the refurb along with a pretty on target rant found here http://www.epcyclopedia.com/2012/04/10/and-now-disney-is-just-screwing-with-us-and-files-test-track-permit/#comments

Does not the Disney Co have any control over WDW? Space Mountain trip up and now this. Talk about a seemingly rogue division.

Man who has it worse this Summer with Test Track down, the bathroom attendants in Morocco, the CM standing outside TT or all of Guest Services staff?
