It would be a start but I doubt it would happen.

Also, James Gunn making tasteless offensive jokes 10 years ago is one thing, posting targeted hate speech and conspiracy theories about covid recently while millions of people have died is something completely different.
I do remember defending Gunn at the time saying they were jokes

As far as the targeted hate speech, I have yet to find evidence of that (I'm not saying it's not there)

I suggest you do research on this before shooting more from the hip in this thread. The evidence of consistent transphobic, racist, COVID denying, and anti-Semitic content is there .
I am actively looking through her Twitter right now

I'm not going to blindly accept that someone is a terrible person and not see some specific evidence first just because people deem it so though

Just a quick Google search of ‘gina carano tweets’ will bring up a plethora of articles, here’s the first one...

In regards to the TLoU/Season 3 thing, I agree it does make season 3 feel less likely even though I know Disney won’t be able to resist bringing it back for financial reasons. I think season 3 could be radically different, perhaps with a time jump, so maybe that’s why they don’t feel the need to rush.

I can take it either way honestly. Season 2 ended with such an emotional bang it’s going to be hard to top it. But at the same time, they have some explaining to do (unless the ST gets retconned). I suppose explaining what happened to Grogu when Luke’s new order fell could be a completely different miniseries or something. I’m also very curious to see how the Din/Bo-Katan thing shakes out.

BTW, Pedro is going to crush it as Joel. Although, I hope this kind of father figure role doesn’t become the only thing he does.

Thanks

It seems some of the questionable stuff has been deleted which is probably why I didn't see it on her Twitter

The Holocaust is a tragedy that cannot be used as an analogy. Even Pedro's tweet is kinda questionable, to compare Republicans to Nazis is rather ignorant. Not all Republicans share the same beliefs or views. All political parties are on a spectrum from crazy to even crazier.

In terms of Mando S3, I really do wonder what they're going to do, also especially with Rangers of the New Republic because she was supposed to be the lead.

This was basically what set me off today

I don't think it's appropriate to call either side Nazis, and questionable posts should be removed if you want to work for the mouse

That's all I'm asking for

And also Pascall should have to take his post down as it's not even accurate

Really feels like whenever this happens people claim it's over just one tweet versus an ignorant and short-sighted pattern of behavior (cough Roseanne cough)

My problem is inconsistency

James Gunn is fired, but then rehired for Guardians 3
Pedro Pascal Tweeted a picture of the Holocaust comparing it to something else and still has his job
Gina Carano posts on Instagram about the Holocaust comparing it to something else and is fired
Gunn was making incredibly tasteless jokes, as he was hired by Troma to do. However, I've said worse on Twitter in the last month.

Pascal's comparison of people in cages during the Holocaust to people. in cages today was direct and apt.

Carano has, in the time she was employed by Disney, made repeated transphobic remarks, supported insurrection of the US government and most recently compared being a conservative (something you choose to be) to being a Jew during the Holocaust (something you are born into.) There is no planet with a yellow sun where A and B TOGETHER are equal to C.

It's not the same, and it's not even a picture from the United States

Rosanne, although always controversial, tweeted something that was legitimately racist

As much as I love dark humor....woof

I strongly encourage you to watch the movie Gunn made for Troma. It'll make his tweets look like a script for an episode of Mr. Rogers.

I don't want to mansplain if you're familiar with the culture of Troma, but being a provacateur is part of the job description.

What’s sad about Gina is she has burned bridges with three franchises...Fast and Furious, Star Wars and MCU with her tweets.

but she wasn’t a critical character for Mando so..

Lol, I will check it out at some point

The Gunn example was merely to highlight that Disney has gone back on things before

End of the day, Disney has the right to hire and fire whomever they want, regardless of how we think things should be handled

To be fair, they went back on Gunn because the tweets in question weren't hidden in any way, and his work with Troma was partly what got him the gig in the first place, and any left hand- right hand disconnect on the matter was their fault and not his.

Gunn in no way is in the same camp and Gina....he is a guy who made some dumb jokes 10 years ago. Guy made PG porn (a youtube video) and Disney still hired him and fired him for no real reason and glad he is back.

Gina is one of those "i know more about the real world then all you people watching the news" and I don't need them in the spotlight...you want to prove things that have no evidence behind them fine you have all the time in the world to find all the lost ballets and prove masks are fake..even if the east has been using them for years to help stop spread the flu.

For Mando Season 3, they can easily make it work have the stunt double do most the season and have him do voice work later and for The Republic Janina Gavankar from Battlefront two could take over her role or they make a new person with a similar background.

Now we just all have to agree on how to pronounce "Gina"

I’d actually be fairly content if Mando didn’t get a Season 3. It ended on such a perfect note and all the questions it set up can be answered in the spin-off shows.

What’s sad about Gina is she has burned bridges with three franchises...Fast and Furious, Star Wars and MCU with her tweets.

They had essentially already sent her packing by making her a Marshal of the New Republic. She can be quietly removed without really ever even mentioning her name again, tbh.

I still think they cut ties with her quietly some time ago, but her latest tweet was beyond the pale to where they felt they had to speak up.

To get into the subject of Pedro--I sincerely doubt he's being sunsetted; and more think it's due to they're just going to hold off on Mandalorian Season 3 any further in the developments until A.) they figure out what to do with Cara Dune (as I don't see the character being sunsetted), B.) finish production on both Book of Boba Fett, Andor, and Obi-Wan, and C.) to lessen costs for a little while.
