Well hey, since next year is now HHN 30, guess we can keep this thread up and make it the biggest speculation thread we've had?

Oh god please no. We could barely handle a year of this, I can’t fathom how two years would go

What a bummer. Not a surprise.
I haven't been following along. What were the rumored houses this year?

It is what it is. I think this is for the best. A lot less stressful. Hopefully, the event will resume next year.

I know everyone is hurting but this was the right decision. Thankful that everyone will be safe this year and ready for the horrah next year.

Welp, I was anticipating this. This obviously sucks, but HHN is a high-risk event for transmission. I'm not too upset about the decision as I'm sure most houses will be in the wings for next year. Now, we wait...

Since the deed is done... Hollywood's decision came last week. Orlando's ax was literally in the past 48-72 hours. From the get-go, it was always explained that Orlando was going to try to make it happen until they couldn't while Hollywood was more likely to get cut. Ultimately, an IP's loss didn't help matters (y'all can spec on that, I'm not going to confirm which) and growing pressure due to the recent spikes in cases made them decide to cancel. While I'm completely bummed, it was the right call. Run the event and no one comes? Why did you risk it... Run the event and everyone comes? Why did you risk it...

There was no easy answer here because even the event's cancellation I'd expect another round of layoffs.

FWIW - I will leave this thread open for a bit, probably a week or 2 - but after that, it's shut down mode.

This is such terrible news, but I'm with those who are sad, but relieved. As much as I wanted to go, it's really likely I wouldn't have been able to travel to Florida to attend this year, because my state has basically blocked travel there. Beyond this personal reason, I think holding off will actually produce a better event. HHN 25 was my favorite year so far, because they pushed everything to the limit to make an amazing anniversary year. I couldn't wait to see what 30 would bring. However, with the state of things, they wouldn't have been able to do it justice. I'm excited to see what they do next year for 30!

I'll be falling into the group of people somewhat relieved I don't have to make an already tense decision about the safety of the event and especially being an out of state traveler. Kudos to Universal for making the smart and probably correct decision to cancel the event given the state of things in both the world and the direct locality. Of course I bet there were lots of reasons why the event was canceled, including obvious monetary reasons.

Here's to hoping I'll be able to make it in 2021!

I think that's the best choice, honestly. Let everyone get their opinions and sadness off their chest and then clear their heads of the event for a year. We don't need 500 more pages of quibbling over every exact detail we can pry from those in the know about this iteration of the event that will never see the moonlight of night.

Why go for only 2000 pages?

since its the HHN 30 speculation thread, we should try and hit 30,000 pages. It would be fitting

What do you all say?

Are they still going to continue selling merch? What’s happens to the tribute store?
They could still technically keep it set up and only take down the facade.
