Is BG getting booted for more room for the King Kong ride or for something else?

It's supposedly for Kong...

If I were Universal Id just move Beetlejuice to the Fear Factor Live arena since they only use it like 4 months out of the year...yet Beetlejuice is daily. That way during Halloween they've still got a suitable venue for the Bill and Ted show!

I would say... yeah put a Classic Monsters show in FFL and give the area a gothic Europe theme, maybe leave space for a Van Helsing ride? Or maybe just build a Monsters area in a 3rd gate? :)

Honestly I think a new arena should be added for a Broadway show... Wicked! Preferrably :) add some 30s marquees and an epic theater facade with an Empire State Building miniarature on top clad with a Kong figurine :D I really don't want a show to go unreplaced

I just get a little annoyed when every place at Universal follows the same formula. Snack stands: popcorn, pretzels, churros. Low level places: pizza, burgers, pasta. Mid level places: chicken, corn, potatoes. No two places on the property should have the exact same menu. Add to the fact that I mostly eat a plant-based diet, there really is nothing for me at the parks, lol.

I understand what you're saying but that's slowly changing. British food at 3 Broomsticks, lots of variety at Fast Food Boulevard and Springfield. Universal is rightfully milking the concept of customized dining (The concept of Butterbeer, Flaming Moe)

Also (don't know how this would work out) The current Spongebob store would also be used for the Krusty Krab. The store would be relocated to E.T.'s Toycloset.

I think it's best not to think about it. The E.T. ride has to exit to something that resembles E.T. How about build the Krusty Krab next to Spongebob Storepants, and connect the restaurant to the store, kinda like how Moe's connects to Fast Food Boulevard in Springfield.

I do agree that Spongebob should be the retheme for Fievel. It's a no-brainer in my opinion.

Well just looking at Disney, their restaurants seem to be very popular and offer much more (and no I am not a Disney fanboy, not by a long shot).

I wonder if it has changed since 2008, but other than Epcot, a lot of the quick-service restaurants in all of the WDW parks are the same average theme park fare. The sit-downs are great at Disney and Universal, but there are people who just want to ride the rides and get something quick for lunch or dinner. At least not all of the quick services at Uni and Disney are the same as Cafe La Bamba has Mexican food, and Epcot has a few countries with quick services.

Which reminds me about E.T, when the refurbishment rolls around, they just need to theme the exterior and preshow to the forest since it is one of E.T strongest assets. Plant some fake tall threes, some foliage, hide the show-building etc.

(And do something about the last 1/3 of the ride please, I always feel like somebody was on LSD when they were designing it.)

For as much as I love ET, ive gotta admit that a tmnt dark ride sounds like a pretty solid replacement concept

Not an ET replacement - it could be the E ticket anchor :) I want to see the E.T. Forest idea come to be, hide the show building too!

Of course the forest would make a Smurfs Village theme for Fievel that much easier but would also mean that Bikini Bottom could only come to be where Animal Actors is

Interestingly enough I was told that the Fievel slide was closed indefinitely by a TM last week. Then a day after HTF mentioned it, they said it was reopening the next day.

They're screwing with us now.

It's more that the plans for KidZone are still in flux... and they probably want their main water ride open for July and August  I'm expecting it to come down in September-October!

So I just saw Despicable Me 2...

And Universal totally dropped the ball with Minion Mayhem. Don't get me wrong, I love the attraction, but the franchise deserves so much more.

KidZone really should have become a Minion Land

Fivel could've been the Minion testing ground from the ride. Gru's lab ride-thru like Reel suggested on Twitter to replace ET. Really everything is a no brainer expect Barney, and the land really doesn't need a show anyway.

Comcast is probably shaking their heads whilst cheering at the same time

I could see Shrek, Lucy, the candy shop, and the Universal Store going Minion. Or maybe the area by BMG could become Super Silly Fun Land?

But it's too late to make KidZone a Minion Land, unless they move Minion Mayhem which is unlikely.

What about Animal Actors, Curious George, and Nuthouse? Not to mention the extra spaces throughout - no brand new attractions?

I didn't feel like going through everything.....Animal doesn't necessarily need to be touched. It's in limo land anyway. Curios George is just a play area. More minions like Fivel. And Nuthouse is themed to the coaster from the movie.

Not yet determined but I've heard of a possible massive ET refurb to update it. Then again I've also heard of a complete gut and reuse of the ET ride system.

 my daughter loves this ride and would be heartbroken if it were replaced. And the thing about it is she is 6 and has never watched it but loves the ride. I guess there goes some thoughts on it not being relevant anymore

I would love to see an updated E.T ride. It seems like it could be timeless!
