I feel like it would be weird if a Despicable Me kiddie area was in a different location than the ride.

Exactly... not to mention that Smurfs and SpongeBob seem to be the focus of the KidZone rumors... with Dora and Hasbro on the outskirts lol

That is exactly my point. Too much of the same mediocre food all over Universal property. Let's get something better and different.

Krusty Burger is far from mediocre from all accounts.

Best counter service outside of 3 Broomsticks on the resort IMO.

I just get a little annoyed when every place at Universal follows the same formula. Snack stands: popcorn, pretzels, churros. Low level places: pizza, burgers, pasta. Mid level places: chicken, corn, potatoes. No two places on the property should have the exact same menu. Add to the fact that I mostly eat a plant-based diet, there really is nothing for me at the parks, lol.

Way off topic, but I will say I did enjoy last weekend at Lombard's Seafood. I had this portobello mushroom, topped with quinoa and tomatillo sauce (side salad not shown). It was inexpensive too.

Do you expect kids or the majority of adults for that matter to order a $15-20 fine cuisine dish while on a vacation to a theme park? Sorry but theme park food is fast food by nature - people want to ride rides, not wait 60 minutes for a mushroom lol

Well just looking at Disney, their restaurants seem to be very popular and offer much more (and no I am not a Disney fanboy, not by a long shot).

Just saying there should be some variety. The menus are literally copied and pasted from place to place. SeaWorld has lower level/priced food mostly but has more options (taco bar anyone?).

For the record, it was only $12.99, there was no wait to be seated, the food came in less than 10 minutes. We spent more time waiting for drinks/snacks in Hogsmeade.

Ok I agree with you there - Universal needs better good. But most people don't expect too much out of theme park dining.

I'd love a fancy restaurant or maybe some custom vegetarian options like at Lisa's Teahouse. But a taco truck is coming to Springfield along with a donut stand. Not to mention Leaky Cauldron will probably have some decent cuisine too.

But the KidZone can't really have anything but pizza, burgers, and chicken since little ones are picky. I still stand by my idea of the Chum Bucket replacing KidZone Pizza, or maybe Krusty Krab Pizzeria :)

Just know that more dining options are coming and that fancy food isn't Comcast's goal: they want tasty food. But I'll agree that Butterbeer lines are too long - good thing 3 Broomsticks has a short wait for Butterbeer :)

Now that I look at the menu online for Lisa's Teahouse I am pleased with that. I did not get to see the menu for it when I was at the park (see my story in the Simpsons thread).

Back on topic, I like the idea of Chum Bucket to replace what is there now. At first I thought it would be seafood, but then saw this, lol:

"The menu first appeared when SpongeBob comes in the Chum Bucket in the episode: Plankton!. The items on the menu are: Chum Burger, Chum Fries, Chumbalaya, Chum Pie, Chumstick, Chum Chili, Chum Shake and Chummy Joes. In Komputer Overload we learn that there are two drinks on the menu: Bucket Bubbler and Chum Cherry Blast."

E.T. needs to stay and the Curious George look needs to stay. Not the theme of it. And I want TMNT!

Yeah I didn't realize there was that many "Chum" items! Must have been a long time since I last watched SpongeBob :spongebob: but yeah I just think the Chum Bucket would look better. It'd be an icon that you see coming up to the KidZone and renovate KidZone Pizza in a way similar to Springfield replacing IFFF

I'd say the Fast Food Blvd food court is definitely the most well-rounded quick-service area in any theme park for what's it worth.

Agreed: E.T. and Curious George are what family friendly attractions are all about - fun for kids and adults  but I don't think anyone would deny that both could use some upgrading/renovating... maybe new AAs and projections for E.T. with some new elements added to Curious George - perhaps a merry-go-round or a Casey Jr style train ride in the center of it all? Have the train ride interact with the play area, maybe a small Fantasyland-style show scene or two, have the train go in and around the whole area and you've got a relatively cheap, and fun FAMILY attraction without closing anything!

TMNT would be pretty amazing but it'd have to be a dark ride of some sort, maybe including some sort of "half-pipe" tech?

I've been hoping for awhile now that we would see a TMNT and a Scooby Doo dark ride at Universal Orlando in the future. I really could see a family dark ride for TMNT in the Kid Zone and a Scooby Doo dark ride/wild mouse inside coaster type ride. I could see TMNT replacing Barney and Scooby Doo going towards the back of the Kid Zone where Woody is.

Ditto for Scooby-Doo! But I don't think we'd get a TMNT ride, a Scooby ride, and a SpongeBob ride at the same time

I'm gonna go with SpongeBob D-ticket, Dora B-ticket (flat ride), Scooby E-ticket, and a My Little Pony C-ticket with TMNT maybe getting a stunt show?

Fievel and Barney will get rethemed while Animal Actors will get bulldozed

I think Curious George and Woody's Nuthouse are pretty safe, but you never know with Comcast!

ET is the real question mark - will it get updated? will it stay the safe? will the entrance get relocated to Hollywood? Or will the Smurfs set up shop?

I would like to see a Simpsons dark ride where Animal Actors is. And TMNT would be another cool idea for a stunt show! I've always thought Fear Factor should be replaced by one of these entries: Bond, Bourne Identity, Gladiator, Die Hard, Sherlock Holmes, and now maybe TMNT?

Yeah your right and I trust everything he says. But you never know, Springfield might be really popular when it officially opens and others might demand another E-Ticket from The Simpsons. Similar to when WWOHP opened and people were demanding other areas and attractions. But yeah as of right now no more Simpsons, so maybe Scooby Doo would be a nice fit where Animal Actors is?

Animal actors is one of their biggest stages, I don't really see this going too soon due to the fact that HHN usually uses 2 stages for their shows and after next year, I think BG is getting the boot for room for :kingkong: along with Disaster. I don't know if they'll want to get rid of a stage.

Is BG getting booted for more room for the King Kong ride or for something else?
